Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez says that “whoever doesn’t want to stay should leave” after the team’s loss to Fluminense.
The Argentine gave a fiery interview to SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after the 0-2 Club World Cup loss.
Inter Milan’s season has now come to an end. They lost 0-2 against Brazilian side Fluminense in the round of sixteen of the Club World Cup.
This means that the Nerazzurri will not end the campaign with any silverware.
Inter Milan had their ups and downs in the group stage of the Club World Cup.
However, the knockouts simply proved to be a bridge too far for Cristian Chivu’s team.
Fluminense went ahead within a couple minutes. Inter looked shellshocked, whether it was the result of the long season, the heat, or simply being overrun by an organized and determined Fluminense team.
Inter Milan huffed and puffed for the rest of the ninety minutes. They did carve out some good chances, even hitting the post twice.
But in the end the second goal of the match came from the Brazilian team, in stoppage time to seal the upset victory.
And after the match, Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez became visibly angry with many of his teammates.
Inter Milan Captain Lautaro Martinez: “Whoever Doesn’t Want To Stay Should Leave”

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez vented his emotions after the match. “We definitely weren’t in the game in the first half,” he admitted.
“We conceded a goal, and made mistakes with our passes and positional support.”
Martinez noted that Fluminense “scored within the first few minutes.”
“But then they defended deep, and defended well. Looking for the counterattack.”
The Inter captain then argued that “in the second half we were better.”
“We gave it our all,” he insisted.
“It was hot for both teams. The pitch was dry for both teams.”
Martinez noted that “we were mentally tired, we were missing players.”
“I apologize to all the fans who came here to see us,” he continued. “Now let’s focus on resting and starting next season at our best.”
Meanwhile, the Inter captain said that new coach Cristian Chivu “gave us a big push, even if we went out of the competition today.”
“The message is clear,” he said. “Whoever wants to stay, stay.”
“Whoever doesn’t want to stay, should go,” the Inter captain had a fiery message for his teammates.
“We’re fighting for a great shirt. And we have to fight for great goals.”
i can bear his frustration, cut his own holidays so that he could be with the team sooner show how dedicated he is. but i want point this out, don’t splash your frustration easily in front of public, external people will stir things up to distract the locker room
I’m with Turo. If you don’t want to be here, fuck off.
We don’t care about how many goals you scored 2 seasons ago.
I love early season drama, haha
What is Asllani doing in inter Milan team is not capable at all will need to change all the midfield nd let change Thuram is not giving us wat u want
that’s exactly what I was thinking too asllani is sh** how can they reach anywhere with a player like that ion care if they loan him out just get rid of that garbage and thuram isn’t world class as Martinez so he needs to be sold and invest it in a striker that guarantees goals
Thuram just recovered from Injury. He did not have physical fitness yet. But Asllani needs to go.
Other media outlets are saying that Lautaro’s words were aimed at Hakan. Not sure about that.
I’m glad inter lost today tbh because they would have gotten another 5-0 lost or worse Playing like that against man city I just hope they surprise everyone this season for all the haters, well said Captain don’t want anyone holding back the team because if they don’t win anything next season I’m going to hate football for life Forza inter
In next 2 seasons, we need revamp of whole team. Both gks will need to change, from centrebacks only left side should be secure, maybe even Bisseck. Pavard more and more injury prone, de Vrij and Acerbi too old, right and left sides will need to change only if we can get better players in their positions. Midfield from last season only Barella should deffinitely stay, Miki retirement, Asllani not Inter material, Zielinski and Hakan half of season will be injured, and Frattesi should stay only if Chivu can play him as AM. From strikers only Taremi is left to get rid of, Lautaro is running all 90 minutes for this shirt, and Thuram stay this season, but sell him next, considering he was brought for free, that’s 70 mil in plus. In second half of the season not that great games as before
I think thuram should be sold this season if they were to win anything next season, look at Napoli for example they’re going to be very strong this season and inter needs top players who can guarantees goals in every games
You’ve really got it in for J.Martinez…. haven’t got a clue why???
Simple, in the last 25 years we had Toldo, J.Cesar, Handanovic, Onana, Sommer. I just believe he is not on their level. Before coming to us he had 1 season in seria B and 1 in A with Genoa. That’s a team from lower table. Stankovic had more games than him at top level, he’s younger and at least he’s our academy player.
Probably was talking about thuram. He didn’t look like he wanted to be there at all.
I feel sorry for whoever was stood next to the doorway when he said this
You’re such a fokin hater. Pick another team. This …. is …INTER
dont use words like hater, it makes you look like those skinny little white kids who walk around town centres without a top on when the weather hits over 30 degrees
