Midfielder Petar Sucic says Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic, and Matteo Kovacic had a big role in pushing him to join Inter Milan.
The 21-year-old Croatian international gave his thoughts to Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. He also named Barcelona’s legendary midfield trio of Xavi, Sergio Busquets, and Andres Iniesta as inspirations.
Midfielder Petar Sucic signed for Inter Milan earlier this month.
The Nerazzurri had already wrapped up a deal to sign the Croat from Dinamo Zagreb in February. However, they waited until the summer to actually make him an Inter player.
Sucic is far from the first Croatian international to don the Inter shirt.
The likes of Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic have enjoyed plenty of success playing for the club. They have both won the Serie A title with the Nerazzurri.
Meanwhile, Matteo Kovacic also had something of a breakout spell at Inter early in his career, before starring for the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
Petar Sucic: “Brozovic, Perisic & Kovacic Had A Big Role” In Inter Milan Move

New signing Petar Sucic declared that “at Inter I want to test myself at a new level, on multiple fronts.”
“That’s why I’m here,” said the Croatian international.
Meanwhile, Sucic stated that the players who recommended Inter to him were “my national teammates, Kovacic, Brozovic, and Perisic.”
“They told me to pack my bags,” said the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, of the anticipated arrival of legendary Croatia captain Luke Modric at AC Milan, Sucic said let him sign.”
“Until then, I won’t call him.”
“I’ve watched his football for ten years,” Sucic said of departing Real Madrid midfielder Modric. “So coming up against him would be brilliant.”
Meanwhile, Sucic named three of his biggest inspirations: “Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets.”
“And the Croat also noted that “I liked Arsenal’s style of play.”
“But I don’t want to imitate anyone else. I’d like to be remembered for who I am.”
He’s already shown me enough to hope we go all in on him, give him the starts and let him blossom
I just wish we’d do the same with frattesi
I worry that inzaghi did too much damage to that relationship that he’s already decided to leave and the injuries are cover as his new club want him sitting out these games – much like hakan I’d imagine, done deals.
He will be a great player for Inter. Interestingly Croatian players do really well at Inter. Also its really good to know that he likes Arsenal style of play becuase thats the kind of football I wish Inter played aswell (expect for not winnning anything)
if inter and the fans were patient enough, he’d be good. kovacic didn’t have many chances, inter almost sold brozo and perisic few years after joining inter and most of inter fans kept saying they were not up to our standard.
