Galatasaray are seemingly plotting another raid on Inter Milan as they consider signing veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Per Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the reigning Super Lig holders have inquired about the 36-year-old stopper.
As if Galatasaray’s pursuit of Hakan Calhanoglu hasn’t been destabilizing enough, they’re targeting another Inter star.
Indeed, the midfielder’s uncertain future at San Siro has already split the dressing room in half.
Furthermore, Lautaro Martinez poured gasoline on fire when urging the 31-year-old to leave the club.
Galatasaray Make Contact with Inter Milan for Yann Sommer

Despite already causing havoc at San Siro, Galatasaray have no intention of stopping molesting the Nerazzurri.
Instead, they’ve approached the Serie A runners-up for information about Yann Sommer.
After another impressive season, Sommer’s form hit rock bottom at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
However, the Italian giants are reluctant to sell the former Bayern Munich star.
Indeed, they want to keep Sommer until the expiry of his contract next summer.
Then, they’d either sign a new goalie or give Josep Martinez a chance to become the number one choice.
Sommer should leave, before we have the Handanovic saga all over again!!
I don’t know why so many people are against Josep Martinez getting his chance- he’s looked brilliant whenever he’s played, and commands his area- certainly wouldn’t be letting a ball bounce to a striker 3 yards from goal!!!
There’s enough rebuilding to be done in other areas- Give Martinez the chance he deserves!!
Hehe no one deserves anything, you have to fight for it. For Martinez, as a gk of 27 years, who had 1 season in serie b and 1 season in serie a only, who’s not even in top 5 gks in our league, does he deserve to be n.1? He’s a solid gk for teams who will compete between 8th-14th place, not for us. I would prefered they left Stankovic here, who had more games than him at senior level, even though he’s younger, had some excellent saves before injury
Going by your logic, your man Petrovic had half a season at Chelsea, who decided he wasn’t good enough, before going on to impress in France… Not impress enough for Chelsea to bring him back though, despite being on the lookout for a goalkeeper!
We’re really going to look at Chelsea transfer history… They have 5 goalkeepers, spent over a billion in just a couple of years, over 40 players who can play at senior team, no one understands their transfer policy. And considering we’re not going to find better gk under 30 mil, unless we can get Gigi on a free next season, which is highly unlikely, i say he’s a best option
Personally, I don’t see him as being any better than Martinez…. He’s proved he’s ready, and to your point about top flight experience, at around 27, there was another Martinez who had no top flight experience, having had loan spells at Reading and other lower league clubs… he went on to win the World Cup, and win the Yashin award 2 years in a row….
I know u think i’m blowing smoke here, but considering how the rest of the team is playing, we need the best man we can get on goal
Agreed. J Martinez played great the few chances he got. It doesn’t mean he’s proven anything but those that say he’s not good enough are not basing it on any fact. Sommer, on the other hand, makes some spectacular saves but is a liability in many other aspects. I really think we gave up a lot of goals from set pieces and crosses because he is not big enough to attack the ball.
#Petrovic for new n.1
😀
whos that?
?Best gk of french league.
No I meant like which team so can search him up.
Current club Chelsea, was on loan at Strasbourg
Lets keep Sommer as a backup and a good mentor. We should either give Martinez a chance for go for Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
We need a new gk
