Inter Milan are the club leading the race to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, but they would have to sell Yann Bisseck first.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
It is no secret that Inter Milan are big admirers of Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
The Nerazzurri had already been trying to sign the teenage defender from Sampdoria last summer. However, Parma beat them to the punch.
The Gialloblu signed Leoni for a fee of around €7 million.
But this summer, Inter’s interest in Leoni has only grown stronger. All the moreso because of the arrival of Cristian Chivu as coach.

However, Inter are hardly without competition for Leoni’s signature.
And in particular, the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan are also eyeing up a move for the 19-year-old.
Still, according to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter are the team in the driver’s seat to sign Leoni.
But Leoni won’t come cheap. Parma want a whopping €40 million for the young defender, reports the Corriere.
Therefore, Inter would have to make a big sale before they can afford a deal for the Italy Under-21 international.
And according to the Corriere, there would be one prime candidate for that sale.
Yann Bisseck would be worth around €35 million. And there are Premier League clubs interested in signing the German international defender.

Lets be real – he has potential but “potential” should not cost this crazy amount of money. If the prize is €40M then let Milan spend all their money.
How dafuq is 40mil price now? No one is going to spend that much, turn to Mosquera to replace Acerbi, and leave Bisseck for another season.
I’ve watched Bisseck play, and I like his game. As a Milan fan, I’ll pick him ahead of Leonni. €40m is crazy money for a rookie. Playing for Parma is not the same as playing for a big club, that plays in the champions league. If Parma want to hold out for €40m, I doubt if any big club will come for him, despite all the reports in the press.
I’m not a fan of bisseck he’s inconsistent but how is a player that’s young, in German NT, have won the league, and played in ucl many times with LESS than a player who’s done none of that ??
Leoni is worth 25M and he’s definitely not more expensive than bisseck. We are world class in selling our players for dirt cheap
