Mehdi Taremi is close to leaving Inter Milan after just one year, but the club will not replace him with an out-and-out striker.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will search for a different profile to bolster their attacking ranks.
New Inter head coach Cristian Chivu has deemed the Iran international surplus to requirements.
Therefore, the Serie A runners-up are actively seeking a new club for the former Porto goal-getter.
Given the circumstances, the exit looks imminent.
Inter Milan to Replace Mehdi Taremi with Different Type of Forward

Mehdi Taremi is an old-fashioned No.9.
However, Inter will not land another center-forward to fill the void.
Instead, they’ll pursue a more versatile player capable of covering multiple positions alongside the frontline.
Indeed, Beppe Marotta and his associates will try to sign an attacking midfielder to fit Chivu’s formation.
The Romanian has slightly altered Simone Inzaghi’s trademark 3-5-2 formation.
As such, Inter will line up in a 3-4-2-1 next term, hence the importance of adding a versatile forward.
Meanwhile, their quest to land Rasmus Hojlund looks to have taken a back seat.
Taremi can score if he is given the ball in the box.
Inter midfielders and wing backs were more eager to score themselves than give him a chance to score too.
There were multiple occasions like this.
Just take a look at the right videos.
inter will do that, inter plan that, inter think to bring…bla bla bla and NO ACTUAL WORK DONE!!!! typical inter news!
milan got ricci on 25 millions….
Marotta would do it for at at least 40M
Why spend on AM when we have 4 players who can play there: Frattesi, Carboni, S.Esposito, Zalewski. Better spend big on first team mid who can replace Hakan, or Cb.
The article said: “They’ll pursue a more versatile player capable of covering multiple positions alongside the frontline”.
Fratessi, Yes. Hopefully he stays, but anything can happen this month. Several clubs interested in him.
Carboni, injury-prone. Need more play time, hence need to be loaned out.
S. Esposito can only play as CF
Zalewski, yes, he can be a winger, wingback, and AM or inside forward. He is a decent sub for sure, as he can cover multiple positions.
IF Chivu uses 3-4-2-1, the two players behind Lautaro/P. Esposito (as CF) could be Fratessi/Bonny (for moving forward) and Zalewsky/Thuram (for moving wide).
I don’t think that could be enough. We still need another one.
Paz is unobtainable, but for the money he would cost- if we have it- I’d love us to try and get Harvey Elliot from Liverpool…. We’ve never been linked with him, and I don’t think for 1 second we’ll even try, but he would absolutely rip it up in Serie A!!
I’d take Soule from Roma over any of those players. Proven over multiple seasons and has even played as a wingback successfully to help out Roma during injury crisis.
Would be cheaper than Paz and Elliott.
Soulet is class, but I don’t know about him being cheaper, as Roma aren’t looking to sell…Elliot is definitely available, but unfortunately, doesn’t seem to be on our radar….
