Inter Milan reportedly see PSG winger Marco Asensio as an affordable and versatile option in attack this summer.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the stars could align in terms of several factors for the Nerazzurri to sign the 29-year-old.
Inter Milan are reportedly thinking about reigniting their pursuit of Marco Asensio.
The Spaniard has been on the Nerazzurri’s radar for a number of months.
Asensio looks likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. He doesn’t figure heavily into the plans of PSG coach Luis Enrique.
And considering that Asensio’s contract with PSG only runs until the end of next June, he would not cost too much. The Gazzetta report that the price tag would be around €10-12 million.
Therefore, Inter believe that they could pull off a deal without too much of an investment.
Why Inter Milan Eyeing Up A Move For PSG Winger Marco Asensio

Meanwhile, Inter feel that Asensio would be a viable target in terms of his age profile and what he offers on the pitch.
Asensio is not quite the kind of young player who the Nerazzurri have been focusing on. He’ll turn thirty next January.
Therefore, Marco Asensio is hardly an investment for the long-term future.
Nevertheless, it is not as though the Spaniard is an aging veteran either. He could certainly still have several seasons ahead of him at his best.
Meanwhile, Asensio has won everything at club level with Real Madrid in the past.
Therefore, Inter sense an opportunity to sign a player with experience, who is comfortable at a top club.
And then, reports the Gazzetta, Inter believe that Asensio has qualities their squad lacks.
Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu is hoping to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation. Crucial for this shape would be having attacking midfielders.
And Asensio would certainly be comfortable playing in the channel behind a striker in such a system.
Furthermore, Asensio has quality dribbling in one-on-one situations. The Spaniard completed 71% of his dribbles last season, the Gazzetta note.
Inter just always refuse to learn from their mistakes, we are presently trying to get raid of old overpaid players and we trying to add another over paid player to the squad again when we should be targeting explosive younger profiles with good resale value…am starting to smell another banter era.. hopefully not
if it’s another Loan or cheap fee type move, I’d be all for it. we desperately need dribbling and shooting and he provides just that. he was great for in the Prem last season.
julio enciso better
Big NO. Zero resale value, will ask for a big salary, and is not only injury prone but also inconsistent. Thats why both Real and PSG let him go
Nah, I’m not convinced. I feel like we are always wasting money by buying players who are near the end of their peak and so we can’t even sell them later on. Yea hes cheap but you won’t be getting that 12mil back in 2, 3 years cause no one will want him or he will be leaving as free agent.
Same, i would’ve rather give Carboni a chance, or maybe for more realistic option Jens Odgaard from Bologna. Younger, cost about the same, experience playing in Serie A and can cover all positions in offense (am,lw,rw,st). Asensio isn’t in form for at least a couple of years, and we won’t be able to sell him
