Serie A runners-up Inter Milan have reportedly agreed personal terms with Atalanta star forward Ademola Lookman.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants are ready to lodge an official bid for the Nigerian.
Despite Atalanta’s €50 million asking price, Cristian Chivu’s men are confident they can sign Lookman on more favorable terms.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri beileve they could get the deal over the line with an offer in the region of €40m.
Furthermore, that figure wouldn’t require additional sales.
Inter Milan Agree Personal Terms with Ademola Lookman

Ademola Lookman tops Piero Ausilio’s wishlist.
Moreover, Inter have already accelerated talks with the player’s camp, laying the groundwork for the transfer.
However, convincing Atalanta to give up their standout performer could be the tricky part.
Lookman’s seal of approval puts the Nerazzurri in a strong bargaining position, but it may not be enough.
Indeed, they’d still need Atalanta’s goodwill.
Meanwhile, Lois Openda, Nicolas Gonzalez, Jadon Sancho, and Christopher Nkunku remain on the club’s radar.
But Lookman is the dream signing.
Well looks like we might be getting a back four sometime during the season (hopefully). I haven’t been this excited in yearrrrrss. Last time I was this excited for a manager was when we appointed Mancini before he was sacked for De Boer (which was insane)
Or we will have the 3-4-2-1 that was tried in club world cup. This would be good for the amount of strikers we have at our disposal. Could have Lautaro/Pio as the 1. Then Thuram/Bonni on the right and Lookman/zielowski on the left. I thought the defender was more priority but happy to be linked with Lookman!
I don’t mind the 3-4-2-1 because it enables a lot of creativity, especially with wingers or attacking midfielders providing they are pacey and tricky. I would love for us to play the actual formation that Chivu may want to play (which I think is the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1) as he has a very bold idea of football. He may stick with the back 3 throughout the season but we will definitely see in game transitions to a back 4 like we did against Monterrey. Again I’m just glad Inter are no longer going to put on defenders when we need goals like we did under a certain someone and I expect a very attacking approach from Chivu. I can’t wait!!!!!
Well we are on the same page, I think he was the right choice, like that he will know the younger players and be willing to give them the chance. Something that Inzaghi, Mou and Mancini (at least most of his club career) have in common, they don’t give young players a chance.
I just wonder if we have the CBs to play a high line
So you talk about wanting good football and you liked mancini?!?! Do you remember his record in the CL?!?!?! I mean don’t get me wrong I was excited post Calciopoli where we kind of had a headstart against the rest of the teams and despite his huge shortcomings I’m a fan of mancini and his football, but his football is not that much or a spectacle, I think it leans more on pragmatic.
Of a spectacle*
Mancini brought a different style of football to Inter on his second stint; it was clear to see with the Italian national team where they went unbeaten for a long time. Mancini’s football has evolved over the years and Inzaghi needs to do the same (I hope he does). Also pragmatic doesn’t always mean a defensive approach. He is more like Ancelotti in terms of using the tools given to him but the football he produces most of the time can be eye catching. If we did go for him I wouldn’t have mind but I had preferred Fabregas over him. In the end I believe we got the best manager for this team. I am super happy for Chivu; he is a legend at this club and his football philosophy and principles are similar to that of modern coaches as he prefers high tempo football with high pressing.
honestly I am yet to be convinced by fabregas. it is easy to perform in a team without expectations. motta did it with bologna. but when the $hit gets real the pressure makes great managers. main difference between Inzaghi and the rest was that. inzaghi managed to keep inter at high level after coming from a mid table Lazio. now its chivus turn to show what he’s made off
meanwhile our center backs celebrate their 100th birthday and still can’t retire because Inter won’t buy a young center back.
but you can’t say no to lookman. dude is well known player in serie a and could be the gamechanger for inter alongside barella and sucic
if we are going to be transitioning to a back 4.. we. have basto and pavard (with bisseck for backup) and the grandpas. we really are not in an URGENT need for another one, unless we get one on the cheap. we can always wait for arsenal to get bored of calafiori or Tottenham to get bored of dragusin and get them on the cheap next year, rather than spending a fortune on leoni this year. lookman will be a certain upgrade upfront as he brings a much much muchhhh desired skillset of being able to run at defenders and a good shot on goal. he also does not suffer from winter goal droughts, like you know who… lol.
This would be a great signing. Shocked this is even a thing. We need dribblers and speed in attack.
Lookman is not doing that great, he only looks good when Atalanta plays weaker teams, he was not impressive to me for a high level matches.
Against small teams? He scored a hattrick against the unbeatable Leverkusen, both matches against Napoli, against Juve, milan, Roma, he scored 20 with a xG 15! His worst match was against us! He is more creative than anything we got in attack!
Looks like Inter Per Sempre only watched Lookman when he played against Inter lol
very true about being creative than our forward lines
He’a player that will surely adds something different than what Inter currently have.
Wow. Truly exciting news if true. We need pace and dribbling and ambition so bad.
we should get him first before Bonny, I dont know what the board is thinking, they lack of ambition
we were missing a player like him for a decade
I remain sceptical about this deal, especially as it hinges on our usual tactic of “we don’t want to pay you what you feel the player is worth”…. I’ll believe it when I see it….
my doubt is more of, how many good years we can get out of lookman.
and our big money purchase has been like 50-50 so far. .
Fratessi 31m – not a hit.
Pavard 31m – not a hit
gosens 27m – miss
correa 27m – miss
hakimi 43m – hit
barella 32m – hit
lukaku 74m – hit and miss
Nainggolan 38m – miss
How was Gosens a miss? He left since it was obvious that Dimarco was going to be the starting LWB and he wanted more playing time. He was actually pretty good when he got to play.
Agree. Plus, I still don’t think Dimarco is a wingback. He is a winger in the ilk of politano. Gosens had speed and athleticism that we often lack.
ultimately, he didn’t managed to hold down a starting position. though he had his injury issues i believed. he is in and out of Inter within 2 years?
You’re likely to have a 50/50 ratio at 30mil. That’s bargain hunting these days. Nainggolan was spaletti’s grinta guy but 38 or whatever it was claimed with zaniolo going was a rip-off. Correa is the only real miss on that list. Fratessi is yet to get a proper chance because Inzaghi wanted a midfield that played keepaway for 70 minutes. Lukaku is a rat of a person but he did spearhead the scudetto run. Hakimi and barella were bargains for what they are. Pavard has been nothing special but he’s no flop.
Lookman is 27 years. I think he can give us 8 to 10 years of pure magic.
the difference is nigerians.. they age slowly.. lol. he can easily give us a good 5 yrs
If this is true, this will create a significant amount of competition among all strikers at Inter. Who knows, we might even get to see a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 formation, which means even more attacking football.
I would love to see a 4-3-3, with Lookman and Henrique on the wings… we haven’t used wingers in so long!! I just worry that we’re doing our usual thing of presuming we can knock the price down, when in reality Atalanta have no need to do so….
I have certainly not seen in henrique what I expected to see in him yet. I think if he does peak the max he will reach is Dumfries level. I don’t think he will be the next maicon or hakimi. though I hope he proves me wrong!!
