Premier League newcomers Sunderland have reportedly joined Inter Milan in the race for Bayer Leverkusen star Granit Xhaka.
According to Sky Sport UK via FCInterNews, the Black Cats have emerged as the latest side interested in Xhaka.
It’s worth noting that Inter’s interest in Granit Xhaka is far from genuine.
Indeed, he would be a cost-effective signing if Hakan Calhanoglu ends up leaving the club.
However, the Turkish superstar will likely stay at San Siro after Galatasaray’s bid fell flat.
Sunderland Take Interest in Inter Milan Target Granit Xhaka

Xhaka is a fallback option for Inter’s pursuit of Ederson and João Palhinha.
Nonetheless, the Nerazzurri would only launch a bid for a new midfielder if they lose Calhanoglu.
Since that looks unlikely to happen, Inter will probably drop their interest in the former Arsenal captain.
Therefore, Sunderland may have a clear path to Xhaka.
Back to the Premier League for the first time since 2016/17, they’re frantically looking for reinforcements.
Meanwhile, AC Milan are also among the Swiss star’s potential suitors.
