It is becoming increasingly likely that Inter Milan will miss out on signing Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni this summer, despite strong interest.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Gazzetta di Parma, and via FCInterNews.it, the Crociati are unwilling to lose their prized asset on the cheap and are holding out for €40 million for the defender.
Leoni has attracted interest from a host of clubs in Serie A after a breakthrough season in which he featured 17 times in the top flight, despite only turning 18 in December.
However, Parma’s asking price for the starlet has put off most suitors, and Inter are also unlikely to meet the demands set for him, particularly as the Gialloblu have so far proven unwilling to budge on that fee.
As such, the Nerazzurri are only willing to consider pushing ahead if they can cash in on veteran defender Francesco Acerbi this summer, freeing up wages and potentially bringing in a transfer fee to fund a pursuit of Leoni.
No one want to buy overrated and useless defenders Bastoni and Di Marco. Simple things that Inter knew that without Acerbi, Bastoni always suck and can not defend at both Italy games and Inter games,

Non sensical article. No way Acerbi has anything to do with signing Leoni. We need defensive help now. I am troubled with all the focus on Lookman who in my opinion is not a superstar in waiting at all. Pio is!!!!
If that was the condition of us putting I’m a bid, which I don’t think its is, then why the hell would you give up on signing the best defensive prospect in Italy, to keep hold of a nearly 38 year old??? I know Inter are stupid at times, but come on…..
this article really disrespect acerbi, you think some 18 year old can really take his place? its very underrated if you see what acerbi n de vrij bring to the table. acerbi was always inzaghi choice because he is also good with the ball possession n positioning, Leoni may be good at marking but is he good with the ball n positioning?
im not saying inter should not rejuvenate cb position, but don’t just say inter Will/should kick acerbi

Someone is gonna have to take his place! He’s been a great player for us for 3 seasons, and I wish we’d signed him when he was 25, but he’s nearly 38!! It would be stupid not to move on….
It definitely is possible is age is irrelevant to the matter, if he’s good enough he’s good enough. But your right we shouldn’t have to kick out acervi to get ahis replacement. We wont get any money for him any way so the youngster should be signed and they will split time next season because acerbi is old and will get injured and need rest. We should sign him before we are desperate for an Acerbi replacement.
We need sales. Leoni, Ederson and De Winter should be the priority 100%, not Lookman. And if we lose Dumfries then what?
Lookman ONLY! If you didn’t know, we playing different formation now, and we NEED Lookman! Who cares about Ederson ! What he gonna do ? Bench? How about Barella, Zielinski, Fratesi, Mikhy, Sucic, posibly Calhanoglu ? Where do you see Ederson brother ?
