Inter Milan will reportedly intensify talks with Juventus over Nico Gonzalez if they fail to sign Ademola Lookman.
According to Corriere della Sera via FCInter1908, the Argentine is the only alternative target for the Nerazzurri.
Negotiations with Atalanta are not going to plan.
Indeed, La Dea’s €50 million asking price has proved a stumbling block despite the player’s desire to join Inter.
Meanwhile, the Serie A runners-up will not offer more than €43 million for the 27-year-old.
Therefore, the deal is in jeopardy.
Inter Milan to Target Nicolas Gonzalez if Ademola Lookman Fails to Come

Despite continuing to push forward with their efforts to sign Ademola Lookman, Inter need a contingency plan.
As such, they’ve set their sights on Nico Gonzalez, who flopped in his first season at the Allianz Stadium.
Inter and Atalanta will try to resolve Lookman’s future in the next few days.
If further talks fail to produce the desired effect, Cristian Chivu’s men will turn to Gonzalez.
However, landing the former Fiorentina winger will likely require Inter to beat Atletico Madrid in the transfer race.
Gonzalez is not the option is not good in my own point of view but I don’t jst knw wat is inter millan directors are doing with two many flop in the last past 5 seasons. Are will still going to rely on acerbi God help my beloved team something is not right in the inter millan board
We still can live without Lookman, but we seriously need a gritty midfielder like Ederson and a pacey defender if we want to play 3421, De Vrij Acerbi Darmian are too slow to play in back three, Hakan Zielinski Asllani Mikhi are not ball winning midfielder
no no no no no no no no…. if not lookman get openda. no merdentus trash.
big no. get chiesa
Gonzales is nowhere near the quality of Lookman! If the Lookman deal doesn’t happen (which is now looking probable, as we always seem to think we can lowball, even though it never works!!) then we should switch priorities, and concentrate on Leoni… Lookman would be a great addition, but as things stand, we have Lautaro, Pio, Thuram and Bonny, as well as Frattesi and possibly Henrique and Zalewski to ocuuoy the front 3 positions… we are far better equipped in attack than defence, so it’s hard to understand why we aren’t doing everything to bring in a central defender!!
I think Inter is trying both Lookman and Leoni. It’s just that Lookman is getting more headline because the deal is nearing it conclusion. Chivu specifically wanted Leoni so let see what happens.
If we can get both, this will be the best mercato in over a decade!! I just hate how long it takes us to complete deals like this!! I also hate having to see the same article 18 times a day on this site!! Maybe I should just go offline until the season starts, and see where we’re at… I should, but it’s never gonna happen!!
If we get Leoni and Lookman, I would say this seasons transfer market was near success. Susic was a great buy for sure. Henrique and Bonny we will have to see how good they will be for us. The only thing we missed out would be not being able to sell players we do not need.
2 attacker behind lone striker has already been crowded. Why we need another one.
We already have 9 players. 7 players you mention + Mkhitaryan + Barella
I really really don’t think we have the luxury to spend 40mils on leoni. he’s good but at 18 he’s largely unproven and has not had exposure yet. a 30mil price would be acceptable. we would be better off waiting for calafiori or dragusin next year when arsenal or totty get bored of them and get them for half the price.
Leoni is Chivus 1 specific request, and as the coach who brought him through, he’s in a good position to know how good he is… €40 million is a high price, and whether we get him or not, we definitely need someone! We can’t go another season with Acerbi and DeVrij as the 2 options…. Not really sure why the links to Solet disappeared… he is quality, 25 years old, and would cost €25 million….
If we don’t get Lookman why do we have to down grade so hard to Gonzalez? He isn’t that good nor he’s young which is not part of our transfer strategy. We should go for Antonio Nusa instead who is valued around 35mil.
