Inter Milan consider midfielder Kristjan Asllani to be definitively out of the project, with Sassuolo a potential option for his next club.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that with the switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, Asllani will have little role at the Neazzurri.
Kristjan Asllani has had three seasons of ups and downs since joining Inter from Empoli in 2022.
However, there has never been any sign of the Albanian international dislodging Hakan Calhanoglu in the holding midfield.
This summer is set to bring a revamp to Inter’s midfield. New coach Cristian Chivu wants to set the team up in a 3-4-2-1 shape with two central midfielders rather than a 3-5-2 with a trio.
But far from handing new opportunities to Asllani, this change-up will only further marginalize the 23-year-old.
Inter Consider Kristjan Asllani Out Of The Project – Sassuolo An Option

Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu has made clear to Asllani that he does not see the Albanian international as suited to either the holding or attacking midfield roles in his new formations.
Therefore, Asllani will not really have a position to play in.
As such, the Corriere dello Sport emphasize, Inter see no option but to part ways with the 23-year-old this summer.
Nevertheless, Inter must also find a new club for Asllani. And one which he would see as adequate for his own ambitions.
There have been offers both from within Serie A and abroad. Asllani has made no secret of the fact that he prefers to stay in Italy.
Newly-promoted Sassuolo have emerged as a potential landing spot for the former Empoli midfielder in recent days.
