Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, particularly hail the performances of Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito as standing out.
Inter Milan beat Monaco 2-1 in a friendly match yesterday.
The result itself meant little. However, the performance was certainly a signal for how Inter will approach the upcoming season.
Even after going down to ten men following a Hakan Calhanoglu red card, Inter showed tenacity and organization against a more physically prepared Monaco team.

Inter have had to digest a lot of setbacks over the last few months.

Early elimination from the Club World Cup followed. And then a summer of tension within the squad, particularly regarding transfer rumours surrounding Hakan Calhanoglu.
However, against Monaco yesterday Inter looked like a side who had gotten to the light at the end of that dark tunnel.
And in particular, the Gazzetta dello Sport note, Inter’s attack looks brighter than last season.
Last campaign, the lack of convincing backup strikers was a real problem.
