Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move for Roma midfieleder Manu Kone with talks for Ademola Lookman at a standstill.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri may change their strategy if they’re unable to sign Lookman.
Inter Milan have been trying to sign Ademola Lookman for a better part of a month now.
However, as Sky Sport Italia note, there have been no contacts between the Nerazzurri and Atalanta for a week now.
Therefore, Inter now feel that their pursuit of Lookman has completely stalled.

In the meantime, Inter are considering a change in strategy, reports Sky Sport Italia.
The Nerazzurri have been very happy with the performances by Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito in training.
Furthermore, Inter have plenty of midfielders who can play in an attacking midfield role. These include Davide Frattesi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Piotr Zielinski, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicola Zalewski.
Therefore, Inter may well have enough options to fill the attacking position in Cristian Chivu’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
On the other hand, there are persistent doubts about whether the Nerazzurri have enough defensive steel and athleticism in holding midfield.
Therefore, reports Sky Sport Italia, Inter could instead shift gears to target Roma midfielder Manu Kone.
i’M liking this move. He is young and a top tier player in his position. GREAT player. Will replace Calh and absolutely a massive upgrade over asslani.
It is obvious that Inter’s transfer season is focusing over the next 2 years. Keeping DV and Acerbi for one more season shows they will move to strengthen that area (def) next season as our midfield and forwards will still have many years ahead of them and the attack and mid won’t need updating much..
I just hope that with a new coach (which I’m liking the tactics so far) and keeping a slow older defence – that we can make the top 4 for the CL spots. Juve, Milan, Roma and Napoli have all strengthened somewhat and got quality coaches as well – THIS season is going to be a great watch.

Inter is indeed the shame of Italian football. You mean even after the 5-0 humiliation in the UCL final, this management hasn’t been able to restructure and reenergize this team?
What are the likes of Acerbi, Bisseck, Asllani, and even the very lazy clown Thuram still doing at Inter? we take forever to close a deal and at the end we still don’t? It appears management doesn’t even know the players they need and the areas they need to reinforce. After all what Lookman has done to force a transfer to Inter, abandoning him now is bad and even if we have to, we should look for a similar player that will boost the attack line because inter can’t count anymore on Thuram. We look for players for other teams to buy. It happened with Bremer, it has now happened with De Winter, Leoni and others. Why not sell the team to someone who is ready to invest? What a joke of a club!

Inter have to be stupid to take that bait. Inter should go all out on Lookman. They should have sold Bisseck and buy Lookman and De Winter. It’s time for new management. Marotta and whoever have completely drop the ball again it’s becoming a habit. Inter will never win the Champions league being cheap and greedy at the same time. I’m starting to think with this management Inter will reach no where.
If Chivu want to play physical pressure and breaker opponent attacker from middle, then Kone is the right one.

There’s someone delusional at Inter because even someone with one brain sell can realise that Inter need to sort out the defence ASAP. It’s not a defence that would even survive until January so why waste time on other low priority targets.

I remember Roma wanting at least 40mil for him and they are also trying to get new wingers so it actually might work.
I doubt it is possible so late in the mercato, but I would like us to get him. He has talent, Serie A experience and physical strength. We need such a midfielder as Hakan, Mikhi and Zielinski are in fast decline and we will have to play a lot of games during the season.
Because they need 40m to help buy Lookman..
