The Sporting Director of Genoa feels that Inter Milan owned attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni has “great quality.”
Grifone executive Marco Ortollini spoke ahead of today’s Coppa Italia match against Vicenza, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni is currently on loan with Genoa.
The Argentine appeared for the Ligurian club in a first round Coppa Italia match today.
And it was an impactful debut for the 20-year-old. Carboni got on the scoresheet in the first half, scoring the opener in what proved to be a 3-0 win for Genoa.
This was exactly what Inter will have oped to see. They have loaned Carboni out in the hope that he can receive regular playing time and grow on loan at Genoa after the serious injury that derailed his time on loan at Marseille when he was on loan with the Ligue 1 club last season.
Genoa Sporting Director: “Valentin Carboni Has Great Quality”

Genoa Sporting Director Marco Ortollini said of Carboni that “we’re working gradually.”
“He’s recovering from an injury. But he has great quality, and he’s increasingly showing it in training and friendlies.”
Ortollini called the Coppa Italia win over Vicenza “a great opportunity to get off to a good start.”
It is worth noting that he played as an RW.
I would have kept Carboni and played him as both SS and AM. Anyways, hopefully both Carboni and Stankovic will come back next summer and be ready to fulfill their potential and become long-term players for us.
We should’ve kept him instead of going for Lookman, and buy cb and cm.
honestly what i’m thinking, entire summer has been useless because of lookman. we could’ve had leoni
Yes, for sure. And the player(Leoni) himself doesn’t have anything to say.
If they wanted Leoni they would’ve made an offer remember you’re talking about a whole management team at a top club. The media spread rumours which is their job but realistic when Liverpool was involved and the player made his decision to go there Inter knew they wouldn’t win a bidding war both based on salary or transfer fees. It’s not like they stop everything and just focus on a single player who by the way made it public he wants Inter. The defence position is priority but it might not be to the coach and it’s evident on how Inter have been focusing on other targets not just Lookman who is a player you can’t just ignore if he wants to join
