Inter Milan pulling the plug on their pursuit of Atalanta star Ademola Lookman may not be the end of the transfer saga.

According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri could make a last-ditch attempt to sign the 27-year-old.

Talks between Atalanta and Inter over the Nigerian’s transfer to San Siro are dead in the water.

Indeed, after weeks of negotiations, Cristian Chivu’s men have decided to pull out and pursue other targets.

However, Ademola Lookman could still join the 20-time Italian champions.

Despite seeing two previous offers rejected by La Dea, Inter could try again toward the end of the summer.

The player remains keen on transferring to San Siro, handing the Nerazzurri hope that they could convince Atalanta.

However, any potential move would require Inter to make a high-profile sale in the offensive department.

A lack of funds remains an issue.

Yet, Chivu’s charges have already turned down several foreign advances for Davide Frattesi.

The Italian’s exit would be the only way for Inter to sign Lookman.
