Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has decided to give Petar Sucic his Serie A debut against Torino. This evening’s Serie A opening day clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.
Inter Milan begin their Serie A season this evening against Torino.
The Nerazzurri are starting their first league season under Cristian Chivu coach after the Romanian took over following the resignation of Simone Inzaghi.

Chivu has already coached four matches for Inter at the Club World Cup. However, this evening will be his first Serie A match in charge of the Nerazzurri.
Meanwhile, Torino are also starting a new season with a new coach. They appointed former Lazio, Hellas Verona, and Lecce coach Marco Baroni over the summer.
Chivu Starts Tried-&-Tested 3-5-2 Formation

Firstly, Chivu has decided to use the 3-5-2 formation in his first Serie A match as Inter coach.
The 44-year-old had tested out a 3-4-2-1 shape during the Club World Cup. Moreover, reports indicate that this is a formation that he wants to use in the long term.
However, Chivu has gone with the 3-5-2 shape this evening.
Therefore, it is a familiar system for Inter from both Inzaghi and Antonio Conte’s time in charge.
Furthermore, Chivu has also mostly gone with a starting eleven of players who had played a big role under Inzaghi. Therefore, there is only one new face in the starting eleven.
Petar Sucic Makes Serie A Debut For Inter

Petar Sucic is the most notable name on the Inter teamsheet.
The Nerazzurri signed the 21-year-old Croatian international from Dinamo Zagreb in June.
And with Hakan Calhanoglu unavailable through suspension, Chivu has given Sucic the nod in his first Serie A match at the club.
The Croat starts alongside the likes of Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Meanwhile, Yann Sommer starts in goal.
Then, in defense it is the familiar trio of Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi, and Benjamin Pavard.
On the flanks, meanwhile, Chivu has started Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries.
Lastly, in attack Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram keep their places as starters from much of the last two seasons.
Therefore, the likes of Ange-Yoan Bonny, Luis Henrique, and Andy Diouf are all on the bench. However, the three summer signings could get their chance to make their debuts as substitutes.
Meanwhile, there are no players out with injuries, with Davide Frattesi returning after undergoing abdominal surgery over the summer.
However, apart from Hakan Calhanoglu, striker Francesco Pio Esposito is also serving a one-match suspension this evening.

I enjoyed every second
Josh, Boss, Petery, did you football experts watched the game? Haven’t seen you around…maybe some words for the management as the new players and Chivu were not as you said like in all of your comments???
lol love it
basto was a rock!! 10/10 defence, 10/10 crosses! and a goal!. Sucic .. a brozo and kovacic rolled into one!! diouf looked nervous, understandably new country not enough time, hopefully will get better. I was really hoping palacios would have been given some minutes.. but heh.. we start the season, where PSG left us last season.
If ever an opening day performance said “We want our Scudetto back!!”
5 goals, clean sheet, and debuts for all our new signings!! Hope you’re okay fighting on multiple fronts Napoli, cause we’re coming for you!!! FORZA INTER
nice said. agree with every pixel of every letter you typed
We saw attacking football, not continuous back passes as with Inzaghi. The team was creative in attack; on the other hand defense looked shaky.
Sucic is a gem. Bonny can become the new Thuram: fast and strong physically.
Diouf might be the new Asllani.
All in all, I liked what I saw and focus should be on the Scudetto. The UCL should be secondary though still important to advance as much as possible, Coppa Italia doesn’t matter much.
LMAO new Asllani
Nope Aslani was at a different level. It’s said Aslani was more than happy to just sit in the bench for the entire season something that I think no new player would be ok doing
We played and look like 2 seasons ago when we won Scudetto. Regardless of the clean sheet I do hope we still get a good quality defender and Sucic is a world class in the making.
chivu puts hopes and trusts on all inter players, especially the newcomers. thank you for the first impression!
Great start of the season with heavy win and clean sheet.
Game was 10/10… I didn’t see anywhere where we were weak. Ofc course we could use improvements in moving the ball faster and make quicker decisions when passing but this game will probably be the highlight of the season. This is a very attacking team that is also aggressive without the ball. Amazing subs by Chivu as well. No more like for like changes, whixh is a breath of fresh air. So far so good. Forza INTER!! Forza CHIVU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the only concern: our grandpa defenders will be tired half season… we need young defenders
Neither Bastoni or Pavard are old. They should be fine.
i mean, we have Acerbi and SDV and centerbacks
Did Acerbi looked tired last season? I can think of a handful of players below 30 who looked way more tired than Acerbi ever did by half season.
No but he probably has the least running to do in his position. It is probably the most effective way to play with an older defender
sign Akcecic ASAP..
16M + add on bonus might be enough..
True
just one word : INCREDIBLE
Denzel and Miki could have been better, as well as Barella
Basto thuram and lauti also played great but not the full 90. So MOTM is Susic barely had a bad touch and saved us numerous times.
Sucic, I agree… Bastoni close at 2nd place
Luis ball controll and speed are excellent
Ref calling fouls for cramps now???
Luiz Henrique, Sucic, Bonny, and Diouf are all on the pitch now, and we still have people complaining about signings and this team being the same old team….
All those comments were from the before the subs
Still, they all got a chance and most of them did excellent. This is not the same old Inter.
Diouf looks a lil bit frustrated
Diouf reminds me of a certain Kondogbia
He’s very nervous so far
I do think so.
I saw him playing before he was great. aggressive .
that’s the gap between his teeth
Diouf with Inter’s Legend Kuzmanovic shirt
El Hadji Diouf!))
I think you are living in the past! he is not El Hadji Diouf!!!!
3 4 2 1 is being checked now
inter still can score more goals.
come on!
Diouf coming in!!
now, it’s Henrique’s turn to score. Chivu, pleasasse!)))
He heard you.
I would say we are looking ready to go , cant remember a better opening game of the season
Inzaghi started with 4:0.
Excellent, now sub Luis, Palacios and Frattesi/Diouf. It would’ve been better if we had a couple of kids as substitutes to get some minutes
Bonny and Pio will save us this season from those old strikers we had last two years. I’m so happy
thank you Chivu, now i am convinced Bonny is a quality player.
Okechukwu, are you still here? Bonny and Sucic, two young players having a great debut. Inter is dominating Torino from start to finish; both Acerbi and Mkhitaryan are having a good game. Can you acknowledge this? Are you able to give Inter a compliment, or will we only see you when things aren’t going Inter’s way?
Yeah.. It was a great performance… But this is serie a… Inter of course is one of the stronger “serie a” sides… Still… This is just one game in SERIE A…
Bonny, now bring inzaghi!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called a debut goal lol
Bonerrrrrrrrrrrrr
bring in diouf?
Woooow Bonny!
Bonny!! After Mhki tiki taka! He should have passed on his miss, but makes up for it there!
Bonny!!!
Bonnyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Bonnyyy
Nice pass from Bonny, Mkhitaryan should’ve scored that.
He should have passed
Now keep clean sheet.
Let’s see what Bony brings to the table.
That was Dimarco’s free kick to take… Barella shouldn’t have shot it.
come on Chivu, we want to see Bonny too
he heard you
If Thuram keeps it up, Bony needs to be outstanding in every training session and needs to score a few when he comes on if he wants to take Thuram’s starting spot.
That’s a big if
That is obvious dude lol
What a pass by Basto
Thuraaam!
Marcuuuuuuuuus!!!
Bastoni crosses like a classic wingback. It’s insane how talented he’s been
Thuram once again!!! This guys are making it look easy.
If only didn’t inzaghi draw against Torino’s manager ex Lazio match, inter would have won Serie A last season!
Always this ref trying bs with us
seeing Biraghi face still makes me depressed in 2025
No way?? He stumbled on the ball?
Lautaro Martinez!!!!
Diego’s simone;’s son plays for Tornio? He must be bad!
El Toro!!!
ngl I was expecting a scrappy 2-2 like the opener in 2023
but Chivu impressed big time
also I’m busting a nut in honour of Sucic performance
Predicted 4-1 with a new signing scoring. Almost there
Lautaro!!!
Well deserved Toro! What an effort!
Lautaro deserve the goal from all his running all match long
Lol, seeing that we agree!
Easy game, easy life!
i missed Thuram’s goal while texting here how great Sucic is…
So far Sucic’s performance was outstanding. He assissted the second goal.
Do you remember we have a midfielder whose name is starting with letter H…
if I’m not mistaking…..Hakan Calhanoglu…
he is suspended for 1 match along with pio
sucic superb performance
Just saw even Piccoli went for 25 mil. Really what kind of incompetent people are in our staff.
Piccoli who?
Roberto Piccoli from Cagliari to Fiorentina for 25mil
Piccoli was better last year than Bonny give the guy his credit
Now let’s see some Bonny Clyde show, hopefully he is as great signing as Sucic!
Just get Mikhi out and bring in Diouf, we should look great. Still some insecurities behind, but overall Sucic making the difference here with his passing, great signing !
Great first half!! Sucic is an absolute Baller!!! Great that Thuram is off the mark, and Great pressing and direct play from the team!!
Have to give a mention to my main man DiMarco…. written off by so many on here, but looking Dangerous as ever, and should have at least 2 assists already!!
Hope to see some more debuts in the second half!!
Seeing that Sucic has an xA 0.05… not bad getting 1 assist with that difference!
Renew Sucic’s contract till 2038 !!!
Loool go let them know
we should renew him at locker room in halftime… otherwise there are barca agents waiting outside
I am finally enjoying Inter games once again. We are in complete control of this game. I’m super excited for this season, can’t wait to see how we look in CL. Also a point to note, Chivu has slightly tweaked this team to press in midfield more aggressively than doing it higher up the pitch. Maybe it’s because of our aging team but this has prevented many counters in this game. Chivu seems really exciting!!!
Too early to judge. It was just 45 minutes against Torino former Lazio manager who is also new to the team. Let’s see how inter fair with C.,unte and Allegri and Rubentus
Inter champions od Serie A !!! Suck it Davide
Way too early. Napoli has a perfect team and Allegri will play once every 2 weeks.
Allegri should first learn how to beat Cremonese.
It’s just one game though..
Now protect this result.
Inzaghi did well so far!!! Just kidding!
Still dangerous from set pieces. Nice!
Acerbi with a good header
If sucic works on his shooting damn what a player he will be
Haha so happy people are waking up on Sucic , i been watching him play for my home town club for years and our national team as well.
I know he can make it at Inter , he has what it takes but time will tell as always.
Protect Susic’ from Madrid and Barca
Susic is a problem. Sheesh finally something different in our thinking.
Sucic is a beast. Everything is going through him.
Sucic there, Sucic here and there… Sucic everywhere…. OMG what a great signing
Thuram!!! Sucic assist.
THURAM… and wow… Sucuc!
Susic masterpiece
What a pass by Susic’
Thuram!!!
Sucic is a great signing
Susic is class
Barella is too carefree for this position. Making the simple pass bothers him.
Sucic is a gem, the new Barella. We have 2 Barellas now. haha
Barella should be more Barella today. Sucic saved him a few times there!
He’s even better than I thought he’d be so far
Bastoni!!!
BASTONI!!!!
Our press is so easy to run past,
We just started the season tired legs from pre season start judging the team after 3-4 matches
Tired legs from preseason? Thats crazy talk lol
Whoever scouted sucic deserves a pay rise
Sucuc is doing well with his pass, in the Barella-role offensively on the right!
He finally has a manager willing to play him on the right side. Inzaghi was an idiot in that sense.
Same old team… Lol…
Meanwhile Tajon Buchanon did an hat trick yesterday for Villareal
give a stream link
I tried, but it seems to be blocked. Just search on yandex.
Mark Knopfler for warmup? or? Hard to hear!
AAAAAAAND Mikhi is starting again
Not exactly the summer revolution I was hoping for, but excited for the new season, and looking forward to seeing Sucic in Serie A!! Bonny and Pio will easily see enough minutes, and hopefully Henrique will settle, and offer us something different…. Oh, and if Diouf doesn’t replace Miki soon, I’m hiring John Wick to fly over to Milan, and take Miki out by any means necessary!! FORZA INTER GUYS!! Great to have Serie A back!!
I just wish this team could prove everyone and all predictions wrong by showing some grinta and classy football from two seasons ago and outclass every opponent in Serie A this season.
Let’s start with a clean slate and go for 38 wins from 38 !! Forzaaa!!!
Dream/wish on..
With Hakan and Esposito unavailable, and Diouf & Frattesi not up to match fitness, this was the predicted starting 11 and formation. Let’s see what happens on the defender side of things as well in the remaining window days. I do think the starting 11 will evolve as the season progresses.
As much as Mika gets heat – he has to be credited as a first class pro. Yes, he is passed his best and can’t play every game like previous seasons, but with younger players around him he can offer something.
I think we have done well so far in the window. The players we wanted out have gone. Correa, Arnautovic, Asslani, plus a number of loan returns have departed. Just Taremi and Palacios left to find new clubs.
The new signings are young, and hopefully will offer a freshness to the team this season.
Acerbi and Mika will defo be in their final seasons, and hopefully they sign off this season in style rubbing off their professionalism on the new signings. Then next summer maybe we get a couple of star players.
I have faith we’ll do fine this season. I’m happy with the way we are going and I’m more than happy with our current financial positioning.
let’s hope so!! the only thing that can scupper this season is the players attitude. I really think Chivu can make it this season if he gets the players support on the pitch.
As much as things change, things remain the same. Mhiki and Acerbi still have lot to offer, but they are no longer starting material. this serie a is going to be the toughest in the last few years. merda, Napoli and bilan have strengthened. como are playing really impressive football. roma and Atalanta remain wild cards.. here we are still living on the laurels of 3 yrs back. anyway… hope for the best! forza inter.
I see Chivu as our wild-card. Also, Mhki and Acerbi still have a lot to offer, if not every game, at least half of them!
Finally someone with some insight in analyses
