Marseille are closing in on the signing of Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reports on his homepage that the two clubs are working on a deadline day deal for the 29-year-old.
With just a few hours left before the transfer window closes, Marseille are still targeting Inter defender Benjamin Pavard.
Pavard has been linked with a few clubs this summer, with Inter reportedly willing to sell the Frenchman.
Turkish champions Galatasaray reportedly are keen on Pavard. Then, Neom have not hid their interest in bringing the 29-year-old to the Saudi Pro League.
Furthermore, the possibility of a move back to Ligue 1 has also emerged.
Lille have withdrawn their interest, as they consider a move for Pavard to be too expensive.
However, another French team could bring Pavard back to his homeland. Marseille are keen to make one more big defensive reinforcement before the transfer window closes.

The Ligue 1 club are aiming to finalize a deal for the Frenchman in the next few hours before the transfer window closes.
Di Marzio reports that Inter’s move for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji has unlocked things.
With the Nerazzurri having agreed a deal for the Swiss international, they have their replacement for Pavard. Therefore, they are willing to sell the former Bayern Munich defender.

The FIGC has determined to hold Inter back this season. Other clubs won’t dare sell their players to them, and we’ll see more penalties awarded against Inter’s opponents while Inter’s goals get disallowed under VAR’s microscopic scrutiny. The club must be aware of this reality, so why not move on from some of the older players and give more chances to the younger ones? Either way, it the FIGC won’t allow the Nerazzurri to win the Scudetto this season.

Pavard hasn’t shown any reason not to test out Akanji instead of him, when Akanji arrived at city he immediately helped the team and was a beast. Pavard hasn’t made much of an impact and has been injury riddled. Hopefully Akanji has the same impact once again, I welcome this idea.
