Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has decided to start Manuel Akanji in defence against Juventus. This evening’s Serie A match-day 3 clash kicks off at 18:00 CEST at the Allianz Stadium.
Inter travel to Turin for this season’s first Derby d’Italia clash.
It is an important match at an early stage of the campaign, with both sides eager for victory.
It is no surprise then that both Cristian Chivu and Igor Tudor have opted to field their strongest available teams.

However, Chivu has more options, with currently no players set to miss the match through suspension or injury.
Juventus, meanwhile, are without the likes of Andrea Cambiaso, Francisco Conceicao and summer signing Edon Zhegrova.
Juventus vs Inter Milan – Manuel Akanji Set For Inter Debut

Firstly, the big team news ahead of the match is that Manuel Akanji will make his debut for Inter.
The Swiss international joined from Manchester City on deadline day in a season-long loan deal.
The loan also includes a €15 million buy option that is triggered automatically upon certain conditions.
Akanji has been on international duty with Switzerland since signing for Inter and has only had a few days to train with his new coach and teammates.

However, Chivu has decided to put his faith in the former Dortmund defender.
Akanji will start alongside Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni in Chivu’s 3-man back line.
Chivu Puts Faith In Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Carlos Augusto

Another couple of pre-match question marks surrounded the midfield and the left-hand side.
Henrik Mkhitaryan was rumoured to be handed the edge over summer signing Petar Sucic.
Therefore, Chivu has decided to rely on the former Arsenal and Manchester United man, as the coach hopes his experience can help guide Inter through this tricky test.
Meanwhile, on the left hand side there was some suggestion that Carlos Augusto could be in the starting eleven.
However, Federico Dimarco has been benched and Carlos Augusto will start.
Finally, Lautaro Martinez will start alongside Marcus Thuram in attack.
This comes despite the Argentine only returning from international duty across the Atlantic on Wednesday night.

I’m afraid there is going to be many games like this one along the season. Our squad is weaker than the last season.
Also, Diouf and Henrique are a proof that our management have no clue what they doing.
And what were those subs Zielinski for Barella and Darmian for Dumfries? It makes no sense.
I dont blame chivu, everyone knew defense and back up strikers was our weak point last season. We fixed one and did nothing about the other. And its showing. We cant stop anyone from scoring in the middle of our defense. Acerbi is done, we needed a Defender and didn’t get one. That is not Chivu’s fault.
Maybe but it was clear that his decisions to take out or leave players costed Inter 3 points
What can I say…. Great game for the neutral I guess….
I desperately want Chivu to succeed, and he has definitely been let down by Marotta in the mercato, but he is gonna have to be brave, and use what he has been given to try and put his stamp on this team…. One thing is for sure- Putting out Inzaghis starting 11, without Inzaghi on the bench will just turn him into a scapegoat, and he’ll be fired by Christmas!! J.Martinez, Akanji, Sucic, Diouf, Henrique, Frattesi, Pio, Bonny… These are the players that he needs to find a role for in this team, and try to bring something different to the table… Biggest takeaway from today though, is that I can safely say Interisti will be done with Thuram!! His attitude hasn’t been right since his first season, and to not celebrate scoring against Juve, and to then giggle away as they score the winner???? Simply put, Fuck off Marcus!!
Really hope that Chivu uses this game as his wake up call… things have to change…. FORZA INTER….
He celebrated quite literally when everyone went away
thats not a celebration! look at how his brother celebrated the equalizer. Marcus scored the leading goal for 2-3 and did not do anything. his brother scored the 3-3 and celebrated as if it was the winner.
But laughing after the winner is unacceptable
We play like we have won 10 trohpies in the last decade. Where is our urgency, to put games away. All that possession and no urgency to go score. Too much passing in the back.
They’re going through our midfield like there isn’t anyone there. Sommer horrendous, but if you see that his day is shit don’t let them fucking near to shoot. Maybe 1 or 2 blocked shots and that’s it. Terrible defensive play from midfielders.
Again, you are blind if you say this chivu’s game is the same as last year. Nope. Chivu is taking risk with high line play. We pressed a lot in the 1st half, while juve was passive and relied on counter like we did last season.
we need Mourinho back, at least he knows how to defend. Chivu is clueless on defense and managing the game
based on what we spent in the Mercato over the last 3 seasons and what merdentus have spent, this was expected. that too being said, we only lost this match due to spectacular solo goals (and Sommer being short). I don’t think the most positive of inter fans expects us to win this year with a rookie coach, below average transfer window. that being said I liked the fight we put in. now, all we need to do is rest Mhiki, darmian and Sommer, and start sucic, henrique and Martinez. that being said our chaps have just come back from the internationals and had more minutes. forza inter.
Zero saves is crazy, Sommer gotta do better
Sommer is done.
Zielinski is done – already obvious last season.
Bonny is not what Inter needed.
Chivu made amateurish subs. He probably hates Frattesi. Pio Esposito would have been a bigger danger in attack than Bonny. Idk why he subbed on Zielinski ahead of Sucic.
When you’re winning 3-2 you must manage the match and not concede stupid fouls. I was on Chivu side to give him time but the signs aren’t good. Thuram exhausted to even walk yet he stays and Inter all fall back after going ahead. Dimarco makes a terrible pass to try to keep possession in dangerous area lead to a foul with the goal. Another bitter defeat this one with Inter knowing full well they should’ve done better because the midfield doesn’t know what defending actually means or even closing down
agree bastoni made a needless foul for their equalizer
Stupid from Bastoni to give away fouls in dying minutes from which they scored.
Sommer needs to be benched.
Sorry, if you listen to the commentator. Inter was not bad. It was juve who were poor before minute 80. This result is not the match to judge Chivu. This game is decided by Sommer. That’s all. Chivu’s gameplan was clear. Even Bonny changed the game a bit by replacing Lautaro who can not do anything. Sucic was not ready, but again, this game is decided by Sommer at the end of the day, Poor him.
agree.
we played very well, especially our attacking spirit. but our defense (not only sommer) was under expectation.
To be honest, the defender managed to limit juve’s attacking move. Acerbi played well as he managed to do mind games and technical play against Vlahovic. Akanji also was quick and managed to do few intercept. To be honest, they managed to limit juve’s attacking move and attempted shot so juve’s can only do long shot. That is where you can only rely on your goalkeeper. Not defender.
Indeed. This defeat is on Sommer, rest played well.
We played old as fuck team and we lose. We got nothing from this game. We bought all these players for what? Whats the point putting Chivu as our manager if we are not playing any of our younger players? What a shame.
Undeserved loss. We did enough to get something out of the game. Sommer should’ve saved the fourth goal.. we move on. Let them have their moment over a bs result. They had some black magic on their side today
Embarrassing loss. 4 shots on target, 4 goals from jube. We have conceded 6 goals last 2 games and we have 3 players 36 years and older in the line up and average squad depth.
My prediction is chivu won’t last this season and we be lucky to come 4th place.
Also, we got rid of Mehdi Taremi even tho we got for free and today he scored 2 goals in his debut.
With bony and pio, two kids as backup, you can’t expect much.
u sounded like you wanted taremi to remain at inter?
and what’s your suggestion that Inter can do better?
36 years are retirees and 20 years old are kids.
Yidilz and Adzic were 20 and 19 years old.
geez. its one thing to be a fan of a club, and its another to be realistic and recognize Inter is in a bad shape financially and would take several more years to recover, if Inter can manage its finances.
Having 3 players over 36 yrs old in the starting line up has nothing to do with Inter being in bad shape financially but rather ridiculously stupid management decisions going into this season knowing you will have to play 3 players over 36 on field at the same time is unacceptable period!!!
Question… how much money did Inter Milan make in reaching the UCL Final 2 times in last 3 years? How much money did make selling players such as Onana? How much money did Inter Milan make on shirt sales, ticket sales etc? Seriously this same old bullshit story of Inter being in soo much financial trouble is pathetic! Ffs sell the club and piss oak tree off and stop exaggerating please.
2 games in a row where the opponent scores with all shots on goal. Its so insane.
How Can Juve score on every f*king shot? And yes Sommer is also to blame.
I didn’t watch Udinese’s game. That is crazy stats
As i’ve said before 0 changes from last season, same players, same formation, nothing new. Only this season starting players even older, and there’s not Inzaghi to get 110% out of these older guys.
I think the conclusion here is that Sommer needs to leave. I’m so sick and tired of his slow ass reaction times. You can’t be a smaller end of being a goalkeeper and have a slow reaction time. Watching the balls, hesitating to even dive. Absolutely ridiculous. And most of all those subsitutions were horrendous. Why is zielinksi coming in? Why is barella going out? why is a 38 year old armenian playing a 95 minute game? Why can’t we hold on to games?????? WAKE UP
I think it’s poor game management and it’s experience. When you are leading in the derby away after 80th m,inutes you just don’t do what Bastoni and Dimarco did to concede that foul. Again POOR GAME MANAGEMENT and it’s unfortunately due to lack of experience.
I will maintain my statement, inter will be fighting the relegation zone. You deserved what you get inter for hiring a manager that he needs at least 2 years to do better.
Can’t blame any outfield player. They were all good and gave their all. On the other hand, Sommer was a disaster. His worst game at Inter.
I don’t give a fuck if he scored (for which he didn’t celebrate??) – we have just conceded against Juve in the dying minutes, and Fucking Thuram is stood there sharing giggles with his brother???? Fuck him, hus attitude sucks!! He should be dropped indefinitely for that!!! Absolutely fucking furious with him… FUCK OFF!!!!
Yeah that was disrespectful in my opinion.
Nowadays players want to giggle, chit chat, and be friends with everybody. Professionals 15 years ago were different.
That look like a clean foul on Bonny, even the ref was about to raise his hand to whistle and everyone stood still.
Season is over after 3 weeks, We are so weak. Forza Napoli for Scudetto. Better than Juve or Milan.
Does anyone really think that goal wouldnt have been taken off if it was in reverse?
Seeing Darmian still wearing the Inter shirt is eye-sore.
As I’ve seen it, first negstive, Hakan did two goals, but he was clueless most of the time, didn’t like him overall. Zielinski got in 30 min. saw him twice, 2 mistakes and Dumfries invisible. Chivu making strange substitues, and to be honest, almost identical like Inzaghi, somehow not logical. Positive was definitely Akanji, liked him a lot, Thuram as always didn’t seem interested, laughing with brother while Inter concedes a gpal, but he does his part, with one move he makes a difference. Liked Augusto also. But overall, I can’t see some change in our style of football, same old dudes, doing what they can with their old bones…. Overall it was a good game to watch as a neutral supporter, as an Inter fan, 1 year of my life is gone 😀
wth thuram doesn’t celebrate the goal and now smiling
welcome back to the years of mediocrity to the joy and happiness of many Inter fans on this page!
btw, is borja valero and brozo still available? we need someone for horizontal passes lol
Thuram must be sold in January
Mourinho is free on the market. Even in decline, I prefer him to this intern with his aerial game and nothing else. The team lacks the slightest creativity.
he was in some Turkish club last time as I remeber. sacked?
Yes, he was recently fired from Galatasaray
Thuram can fuck off!!!!!
Laughing with his bro,
HOW IS THAT NOT A FOUL??? this is bullshit
Bloody hell, 0 saved shots.
Impossible
Clear foul C’mon ref he even had has hand on the whistle
oh come on sommer….. what are you doing man
sommer fuk uuuu midget
Sommer OUT
We need sommer gone, i’m tired of it. He had to have sold his soul against barca cuz that was his last good game. Slow reaction times, really slow…. and they scored but atleast that’s not his fault
actually it was his fault rewatching it. WHY IS HE HESITATINF????????
It its too good to be true to win in Turin.
Sommer OUT
Thank you
First and only time I can agree with you!
Wth is zielinski doing on that corner
This is not understandable We are still playing Damian and Henrique is on the bench, Mikki playing 90 still playing 90 minutes and Suçic on the bench.
Joao Mario in rube? lol
Bonny has got to be a Thuram clone lol
why not celebrating, Thuram???
father watching.
Gotta admit…Great subs by Chivu. Changed the tame
Sooner or later (I think sooner) Chivu will be sacked but that wont change the situation much. More than having inexperienced and incompetent coach Inter suffers from having players who are not up to the level required for top results. inzaghi did some magic and got the most out of them, but once he left the management should have ovehauled the team but they opted to be cheap and by several no names that will hardly ever become starters.
inter bench are rarely utilized during inzaghi’s time and starters often clocked high number of minutes.
this has to change. we need a squad of 16-18 players minimum to compete in all 3 fronts, not just 11 starters and 5 half-ass sub.
and just as i reply, Inter leads 3-2!!
Sacking him wont help, its marottas fault. We have dominated all three games. Its not the managers fault we have Senior citizens as CB.
Sack Chivu right now! Give Hakan for free, he is done, Acerbi is old, Mhiki is sooo bad, everyrhing is shitty. The team is bad…
Why all this negativity? Why not support your team? Why??? People seem to be happy when the team is not at their best. This is Inter, our team! Good times, bad times, Inter should be supported!
For some Wierd reason som fans prefer to say “i told you so” about their team instead of celebrating their teams win
Well…. It was said though… When Juve brought in the younger players, inter struggled more… That’s all I’m going to say…
am i watching Turkish league? galatasaray vs fenerbahce lol
What a goal. Hakan is a player with PURPOSE
Take Hakan out. He cannot shoot from distance, why is he shooting?
so…. about that…
he’s not wrong. but he seems to be the only one that is shooting.
Shut the fuck up
Do you have something more intellignet to say in your comments today?
If this was a joke it was poorly executed I can’t tell what’s sarcasm over a text box
Spoke too soon bud
I spoke right after the goal, so that the ones that keep tild us that Hakan is shit to shut up. But I guess irony is not for everybody…
Stop lying If you said that after the goal you would be foolish. You would rather be foolish than admit you spoke too soon?
Agh got you. I didn’t see any other comments before yours so the irony wasnt hitting for me. I see what your saying
zielinksi? really? and barella out? not mkhi?
ffs. what was that foul? it was nowhere near the ball? why did the ref gave it?
ffs
Sommer, Hakhan, Mikhi, Acerbi….basically we didn’t do anything during this transfer window, kept all ageing starters, didn’t stregthen the attack, defense, middle of the pitch, basically did nothing! Not bringing in Lookman and Kone or anyone else at that level meant that our management has chosen mediocrity!
They way so slow and predictable because they insist on having the ball constantly. It will be the same in every game in Serie A this season.
well, juve is defending deep, and simply allow inter to pass around, even outside their penalty box.
tactically, i feel we looked more fluid with bastoni and akanji both capable of bringing the ball to half way line, alowing barella and Mkhi to run between space
its not perfect, but at least its a viable solution
I think Augusto is very solid this game. Well played.
How come Thuram in some occassions he’s inside the opponents box but for some reason he decides to just dance around instead of making a genuine attampt to beat him man he must know any mistake by the defender then it’s a penalty. Very disappointed by him with over doing things. This match looks like it needs someone who can pin down his player and receives the ball which he can’t do also someone who won’t think twice regarding taking a shot on goal
Can’t really blame sommer, Hakan should have done more but tbf it’s so quick and class finish, just highlights even more that we don’t have any exciting players that can attack at pace, we’ve all been saying it for years.
Another game, all the ball, but no intent or creativity just slow ball side to side.
Juve will score again. I think this could end 4-2 to them
close enough.
Too much space giving outside the box, Locatelli almost scored, but yet no alert for our defenders. Starting from last game till now, same thing………
And offense, oh my, cant even tell what is Chivu’s tactic…… High pressure in the front only last 10mins and done……….Then cant tell anything else…..
4 goals conceded in 2 games and this one is not done yet.
Defense is shaky and if we don’t get atleast one point it will be very disappointing since jube don’t have any real superstars in the team and some suspensions/injuries.
Be ready for a rollercoaster season and I think we will be lucky to come 4th place with the average squad depth we have, my prediction is Chivu will be gone before the season ends, he’s too inexperienced to coach a team that have high expectations.
Sommer should’ve been aware in that situation he was going backwards which meant he couldn’t make a proper save
We need a new Ccb. We let in way too many goal from the top of the box. Acerbi is done as a starter.
A fairly even half, but the problems for Inter are glaringly obvious…. Unfortunately, the first time Chivu drops Miki, we lose, and now Sucic is sat on the bench, rather than running the midfield…. Our defence is just not the same anymore, although Akanji has been fairly impressive… Acerbi now just looks like a pensioner on the pitch, and Sommer is just Handanovic 2.0… why do we always leave thing 2 seasons too long before changing ageing players?? J. Martinez showed he was capable last season- he needs a run of games!! Lautaro and Thuram have been anonymous, but without Sucic or DiMarco on the pitch, we lack creativity… hopefully DiMarco, Sucic, Bonny and Pio can turn this around in the second half…
Sucic, Frattesi and Pio Esposito should be subbed on.
Starting Lautaro was a mistake. He came late from Argentina and it is showing up.
I hope Sempreinter read this comment. I do not know what happened between Diskus and this Website, in my opinion it is better we back to Diskus.
agree. Current condition of commenting section is horrible tbf. Hopefully we get back to Disqus soon
I’m making an alternative, i’ll update everyone soon
the goooddest luck in that bro!
Please God make it so!!
We’ve been the better team and are unlucky to be a goal down. That being said we look shaky on the counter and need more from our strikers. We can get back in this game easily
The better team is the one that scores more goals. Who scores more wins the game. Ball control, attempts and shots on goal are trivial stuff in the end.
The game isn’t over my guy
sorry, but this squad is too mediocre for Akanji.
Disgusting. 2 shots on goal and 2 goals..
I lf I would be Chivu, I would put out Lautaro and Calhanoglu, bring in Sucic amd Bonny
Lautaro and Mikki, I will keep Hakan.
He didn’t connribute with anything so far except the goal, Hakan creativity is gone unfortunately, Mkhi can do at least some defensive tasks better at the moment. Or put both out and get Diouf and Sucic 😀
Fucking hell, two and a half games have passed and we already received 4 goals. This 3 cb isn’t working anymore.
Yes. Take one out, and all will be perfect
This way we will win every single game… for sure.
We all get it, you have a problem with the 3 CB system. We understand that.
0 presence in midfield, even Udinese went through like they were Man City. No defensive play at all. With 3 back it kinda should look like we suffer in attack and defensively look solid, but we look opposite, like a joke in defense.
the defense looks shit, so vulnerable
Lautaro invisible today
This defence and Sommer are horseshit
Kenan yildiz gonna be a problem for us for years
he will leave for EPL or Real/Barce soon enough.
Sommer is bad today
u absolutely suck sommer
geez. you have a good shot, but it doesn’t give u the license to keep shooting from range. ffs.
pass more Hakan
akanji always moving ball forward..thats a positive play there
Where are the haters? The management is bad but stop accusing inter players. If you want to blame anyone blame CEO of inter
Exactly
This comment section is all messed up, making me reply to other comments
Hakannnn! Let’s hope you kick into form now!
Respect is a two way street…haters
Thank you
Akanji makes so much difference in attack! compared to last season
he is way more comfortable on the ball, either passing or dribble past pressing players before distributing.
Akanji adding a lot on the ball to this team, i think we’ll get back into this game
Sucic IN, Hakan OUT! ASAP
Eat shit
only after you, sister
Mikki out bro
Akanji is top quality!!!
Akanji is more creative then Calhanoglu
I do not see the difference between what Inzaghi did and now. Inter still struggled. Why Chivu is playing Mikki? Looks like the guy in indispensable? For me Lautaro lost a spike and why Chivu is not playing different?
tbf, they look fresher, faster, more confident
Hakan taking a lot of blame for this not gonna lie, losing that ball in the middle was pedestrian
Absolutely hate it when goalkeepers don’t fucking move for the ball and rather watch it go in
Calhanoglu continues to sick unfortumately :/
Suck*
hahahahaha
Hakan is done
inter is done long time ago!
hi guys, pls drop here a nice working link
google hesgoalTV
Hakan redeeming himself
Allez inter! Vamos inter!
The midfield trio should have been Barella&Sucic in a double pivot and Frattesi as an AM behind the strikers.
Yeah defeats from udinese is combination of bad luck and underwhelming attacking creativity. I hope our trio mid and dimash can shine today. Amen
fuck this put Susic on
Dimarco started to look somewhat back to normal and so is dropped?! ♂️
Might put £20 on akanji to give away a pen
Forza Inter!
Jube lineup don’t scare me, they don’t have anyone that is super dangerous, and plus they have conceicao and cambiaso unavailable while we have full squad, still Jube away is always hard but with our lineup I expect atleast a draw.
I’m very disappointed in our transfers this season we didn’t get any quality player, although Sucic have potential.
This game is important because 1) it’s jube and 2) we just came from a shock loss at home, so we need atleast a point for our morale. A loss would be bad.
I don’t expect much from this season because we didn’t get any quality player and also got rid of Pavard stupidly and kept inconsistent Bisseck. Plus we still have 3 players that are 36+ years old in the lineup most games: Sommer, Acerbi, Mhiky. That’s not good.
Hopefully we will come top 4 but if we are below that by January Chivu won’t last since it’s crucial to be in ucl. Let’s play a good game today forzaaaa
Quite underwhelmed with the starting 11… the defeat against Udine has obviously rattled Chivu, who’s playing it very safe…. Unfortunately, by playing it safe we are just old and slow…hopefully the likes of DiMarco, Sucic, Bonny and Pio can have an impact in the second half… FORZA INTER
