Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has said he is not worried about his side’s poor start to the season, even after Saturday’s 4-3 Derby d’Italia loss to Juventus.
Speaking to the press after the game, with quotes via FcInterNews, Chivu was proud of his side’s performance against the Bianconeri.
“The team dominated from the first minute,” he said, “they came here to play the game and apart from some moments where they could have managed things better, they did so.”
“Unfortunately,” Chivu added, “there was a lack of clarity in understanding the key moments, where maybe we could have shown more pragmatism to make the most of the sacrifices made on the pitch.”
It was a tumultuous match, with both sides leading at several points throughout the game.
Chivu’s side held a 3-2 lead heading into the final ten minutes of the game.
However, goals from Khephren Thuram and Vasilije Adzic were enough to gift the hosts all three points.
Inter Milan Coach Chivu “Confident” Despite Juventus Loss

Chivu said he is “confident because with these performances, the future does not worry me.”
“We need to find pragmatism,” the coach added.
“Because the team already does things quite well and can only improve in understanding how to manage certain moments better.”
The coach was also asked to comment on images that appeared to show Marcus Thuram laughing with his brother Khephren at full-time.
“I don’t know, I didn’t see it,” Chivu said on the matter.
“But let’s stop creating controversy because putting obstacles in the way doesn’t help anyone. Let’s judge based on what we saw.”
Chivu was focused on the team’s need to be more “concrete” in difficult moments.
“This is what I mean when I talk about understanding the moments. When you need to be concrete and not beautiful.”
It was this lack of ruthlessness that cost Inter in the end.
A dismal defensive display did not help, with goalkeeper Yann Sommer conceding four goals from four shots on target.
I’m confident that Chivu will be fired very soon.
one of the most idiotic moves over the past couple of years was to buy Martinez, he will never become a firts choice goalkeeper at Inter. Instead of him, we should have purchased a first choice goalkeeper whoul would have already replaced Sommer as a starter…What we now have are basically two substitutes without a starter. Idiots.
What a mess Management have caused because of Marotta cheap greedy ways. Players should have been sold with quality reinforcements like Lookman. Instead they spent money on persons who only going to get a 5 mins sweat here and there. Marotta is a fool and should leave the club. his visions no longer suit the club.
Marotta is slowing turning inter to a mid table team, everyone in the world knew goalkeeper Sommer was no longer a reliable and should be used as a back up in his final season but yet he is still number 1 because no competition for his starting spot unfortunately. Oaktree should please and please sell Inter asap before things get more uglier than this.
