Josep Martinez will reportedly replace Yann Sommer between the posts when Inter Milan take on Ajax on Wednesday night.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Spaniard will start in Inter’s Champions League curtain-raising fixture.
Yann Sommer has been the first-choice goalkeeper since joining the club from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.
However, that’s about to change.
Indeed, the Swiss star’s woeful performance against Juventus has prompted Cristian Chivu to make the change.
Josep Martinez to Replace Yann Sommer in Ajax vs Inter Milan UCL Opener

Despite paying Genoa €15 million last summer, Inter have nailed Josep Martinez to the bench.
Indeed, the 27-year-old only made ten competitive appearances last season.
However, Martinez’s patience could soon pay off, with Chivu ready to hand him a starting role.
Furthermore, the Spaniard will likely start in Wednesday’s European clash against Ajax.
Martinez was in goal when Inter beat Feyenoord 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie last term.
Therefore, he could make his second European appearance for the club this week.
