Matteo Darmian will likely be part of Cristian Chivu’s matchday squad for Saturday’s Serie A match between Inter Milan and Sassuolo.

According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, the Italian wingback will resume full training on Friday.

Darmian was unavailable for selection yesterday as Inter beat Ajax 2-0 in their Champions League opener.

Furthermore, the 35-year-old was on the sidelines last weekend when the Nerazzurri lost 4-3 at Juventus.

Like Lautaro Martinez, Darmian has been out with a back injury.

However, after working separately from the group for a week now, Matteo Darmian is ready to resume full training.

Indeed, he will reportedly rejoin the squad tomorrow for a full training session.

Therefore, it’s only natural to assume that he will be at Cristian Chivu’s disposal this weekend.

Nonetheless, Denzel Dumfries should be Inter’s starting wingback on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Darmian has proved a reliable backup option over the years.

Moreover, his versatility makes him a valuable asset amid Inter’s congested fixture schedule.
