Manuel Akanji enjoyed a great game against Armand Lauriente as Inter Milan squeezed past Sassuolo 2-1 last night.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Swiss center-back impressed against the French forward.

After a dismal debut against Juventus, Manuel Akanji returned to form.

Indeed, the Manchester City loanee met expectations in a 2-0 Champions League win at Ajax on Wednesday.

Furthermore, he fared outstandingly in yesterday’s clash against the Neroverdi.

Despite Lauriente’s attacking prowess and quick feet, Akanji stood his ground last night.

Moreover, the 30-year-old seemed calm and collected in possession, unlike his defensive colleague, Francesco Acerbi.

Indeed, the veteran defender struggled against Andrea Pinamonti.

Acerbi’s poor anticipation midway through the second half nearly saw the Italian striker level the score.

However, Josep Martinez came up huge to thwart Pinamonti’s close-range header with a fabulous save.

In addition to Acerbi, another Nerazzurri stalwart had an underwhelming game.

Nicolo Barella made too many mistakes in the middle of the park.
