Cagliari vs Inter Milan will see Sebastiano and Francesco Pio Esposito go head-to-head against each other in a rare family duel.

The brothers, who both developed at Inter, have never played together in the same shirt but Saturday’s game will not be the first time they have played against one another.

In the 2023-24 Serie B season, with Sebastiano at Sampdoria and Pio at Spezia, the two met as opponents for a total of 27 minutes.

The two have never met as opponents in Serie A, until tonight.

So despite both playing for Inter, they have never shared the pitch as teammates.

In this summer’s Club World Cup, both were available and a part of Cristian Chivu’s squad.

However, they did not play together.

It is not the first time that an Inter player has come up against his brother this season either.

In the Derby d’Italia a fortnight ago, Inter forward Marcus Thuram faced off against his younger sibling Khephren.

The younger Thuram emerged victorious, with Juventus defeating Inter 4-3.
