Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic left Inter Milan to embark on a new adventure in Belgium in the summer.
Speaking to the Serbian Football Federation via FCInterNews, Stankovic admitted he is still following the Nerazzurri with passion.
Inter agreed to sell Aleksandar Stankovic to Club Brugge for a reported fee of €10 million in the summer transfer window.
However, aware of the midfielder’s potential, the San Siro club included a buyback clause in the agreement.
Therefore, they can re-sign the 20-year-old next summer for around €23 million.
Meanwhile, Stankovic has enjoyed a promising start at Club Brugge.
Indeed, he has quickly established himself as a first-team regular at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Furthermore, Cristian Chivu and his associates are keenly monitoring the youngster’s progress.
As such, it’s hard to exclude his fast return to San Siro, especially if he maintains this level of performance.
Proud of Maiden Serbia Call-up, Aleksandar Stankovic Reiterates Affection for Inter Milan

Stankovic could make his international debut for Serbia in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Indeed, he has made the cut as Dragan Stojkovic’s men take on Albania and Andorra.
“I am Serbian, I always introduce myself this way wherever I go,” Stankovic claimed. “I’ve been offered to play for Italy several times, but my answer has always been the same.
“My family is Serbian, I feel Serbian, and it’s the only national team I want to play for.”
Then, he admitted that Federico Dimarco called him to congratulate him on the call-up.
“As soon as he found out, Dimarco called me and congratulated me,” Stankovic added. “We are great friends.
“He was very happy for me because he knows how much this call-up means to me and how much I love Serbia.
“He’s proud, as is my whole family. Moreover, he also helped me when I decided to move to Lucerne.
“It was the summer of last year, I had offers from Serie B. But he advised me to go to Switzerland because there I would have space to grow.
“He had played at Sion and knew the level well. It wasn’t easy to leave Italy, but I would make the same choice again.”
Stankovic Hails Excellent Rapport with Cristian Chivu & Names Hakan Calhanoglu His Idol

“I’m happy for Chivu,” Stankovic replied when asked about his relationship with the new Inter Milan head coach.
“I know how much he works and how much Inter means to him. And I’m cheering for him with all my heart.”
Meanwhile, Stankovic had a chance to observe Hakan Calhanoglu firsthand during his time at the academy.
“Dad is my idol, no doubt,” he was adamant. “But I’ve watched Hakan Calhanoglu a lot in the last two years when I trained with Inter’s first team.
“What he does on the field is incredible.”

What was the point of seeking him this year?
We could have loaned him in Italy, save money from Diouf and buy a quality midfielder. We will effectively pay Club Brugge €12 mil to keep our player for a year.
I think he have pavard situation. He want to play more for WC spot serbia squad. He will mot get that in inter. And also, barella like to play dmf.
