Inter Milan and Federico Dimarco are reportedly in talks over the player’s contract renewal after a superb start to the season.

According to FCInterNews, negotiations are underway as the Nerazzurri aim to tie the 27-year-old down to a new, long-term deal.

Federico Dimarco has thrived under the new Inter head coach, Cristian Chivu.

Indeed, the managerial change has seen the Italian star’s playing time increase significantly compared to last season.

Unlike Simone Inzaghi, Chivu rarely takes him off.

Dimarco has made six appearances in Serie A this season, including four starts, netting two goals and providing three assists.

Furthermore, he has completed more crosses (23) than any other player in Italy’s top flight.

Dimarco has also created more goal-scoring opportunities (22) than anyone else in Serie A this term.

Finally, he has engineered more ‘big chances’ (11) than any player across Europe’s traditional top-five leagues.

Therefore, it’s hardly surprising that Inter are eager to extend his contract.

Meanwhile, his current deal at San Siro expires in 2027.
