Former Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic has expressed his support for the Nerazzurri to win the Serie A title, declaring his affection for the club remains as strong as ever.

Speaking to San Marino RTV after Austria’s 10–0 victory over San Marino, the 35-year-old was asked who he believes will win the Scudetto this season.

“Who will win Serie A? I hope Inter,” Arnautovic said, with quotes via FCInterNews.

“Inter is always in my heart – I support them and hope they can win.”

The Austrian forward, who spent the 2009–10 season on loan at Inter under José Mourinho, played three times for the treble-winning squad.

13 years after his loan spell, the Austrian returned to Lombardy.

He played two seasons for the Nerazzurri, scoring 14 times in 62 appearances.

Arnautovic’s comments come as Cristian Chivu’s side prepare to return to Serie A action next weekend following the international break.

Therefore, Chivu’s side aim to build on their strong start to the campaign.

“Inter will always be my team,” the striker added, reaffirming his long-standing emotional connection to the club.
