Inter Milan have reportedly yet to decide whether to hand veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer a new contract at San Siro.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Serie A giants are struggling to make a decision amid the Swiss star’s fall from grace.

Yann Sommer had a guaranteed starting spot under former manager Simone Inzaghi.

Furthermore, the 36-year-old has been nothing short of reliable since joining the club from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

However, Sommer’s situation has changed this season.

After an awful performance against Juventus at the start of the campaign, Sommer has lost his starting berth.

Indeed, new manager Cristian Chivu prefers Josep Martinez over the ex-Bayern Munich ace in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Sommer remains the No.1 choice in the Champions League.

However, his contract expires at the end of the season. Furthermore, he will turn 37 in December.

Therefore, Inter are hesitant to offer him fresh terms.

Additionally, the Nerazzurri are keen to evaluate Martinez before making a final decision.
