Retired Italian goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino is a fan of the playing style displayed by Inter Milan this season, branding it the best in Serie A.
The Nerazzurri kept the same core from their previous campaigns, while making a few additions to the squad. The most notable arrivals have been Petar Sucic, Ange Bonny, and Luis Henrique, in addition to Francesco Pio Esposito, who returned from a loan spell at Spezia.
However, the most notable change has been in the dugout, with Cristian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi.
The 2009/10 treble winner led Inter towards a commanding 5-0 victory over Torino on his San Siro managerial bow.
However, his team then suffered back-to-back defeats to Udinese and Juventus. This raised major doubts over the team’s ability to challenge for the Serie A title.
Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri have now rebounded by registering three wins in a row at the expense of Sassuolo, Cagliari and most recently, Cremonese. They have also won their first two Champions League contests against Ajax and Sparta Praha.
This impressive five-match winning streak has restored Inter’s status as one of the main favourites to win the Serie A title, as evidenced by the odds of some of the most reliable bookmakers, including the platforms you can find on https://readwritemalaysia.com/betting-sites/.
But aside from the team’s improved results, the Benemeata have also been impressing fans and observers alike with their progressive style of play.
As Sorrentino puts it, Inter are currently showcasing the best football Serie A has to offer.
“Inter certainly play the best football in Italy,” insisted the former Chievo Verona and Palermo goalkeeper during his appearance on Domenica Sportiva via FcInterNews.
“The Nerazzurri’s performance against Cremonese is a testament to this.”

Sorrentino was delighted by Chivu’s tactical manoeuvres. The young manager played Nicolo Barella as a deep-lying midfielder instead of Hakan Calhanoglu. He also gave Sucic the opportunity to start.
“It wasn’t a match on paper, but starting Nicolò Barella in place of Hakan Calhanoglu and Petar Sucic, who we’ll be hearing a lot about, brought a breath of fresh air.
“The fact that Marco Silvestri, Cremonese’s goalkeeper, was their best player on the pitch shows how much Inter created. It surely wasn’t a good night for Cremonese.”
After the international break, Inter will negotiate three tough fixtures. They will play current league leaders Roma and Napoli in back-to-back away fixtures, before hosting Fiorentina at San Siro.
