Former Cesena and Bologna manager Pierpaolo Bisoli tipped Inter Milan and AC Milan to emerge as serious contenders for the Serie A title.
The Nerazzurri have started as the ultimate favourites to lift the trophy over the past four years.
However, they have only succeeded once during Simone Inzaghi’s four-year reign, with Napoli pipping them to the title on two occasions, and Milan prevailing in the ultra-exciting 2021/22 season, when the title race went down to the wire.
This season, the landscape has shifted in the Partenopei’s favour, especially following a thrilling transfer campaign. Most fans and observers have identified Antonio Conte’s men as the new favourites to win the Scudetto. This is also portrayed by the odds of the most reliable online betting sites in the United States.
Pierpaolo Bisoli Tips Inter Milan To Challenge For Serie A Title
Aside from their defeat to Milan on matchday five, Napoli have been flawless, winning their other five Serie A fixtures. They now find themselves at the top of the table with 15 points, albeit on par with Roma.
Nevertheless, Bisoli refuses to rule out the Milanese duo from the race, backing them to launch a title challenge.
“Napoli’s challengers for the Serie A title? I would say Massimiliano Allegri’s AC Milan and Cristian Chivu’s Inter seem like credible contenders to me,” said the 58-year-old in his interview with TuttoMercatoWeb via FcInterNews.
“Allegri is a winner and can give them a run for their money.”
Some Pundits and observers had initially questioned Inter’s ability to challenge, especially after back-to-back defeats to Udinese and Juventus.
Nevertheless, Chivu’s men have since bounced back with three straight wins, climbing to fourth place in the table.
They have also been producing entertaining displays. The club’s longtime servants, including Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu, have regained their best form, while new signings Petar Sucic and Ange Bonny have swiftly integrated into the manager’s plans.
Inter Milan Revived Their Title Chances After Slow Start
Bisoli also discussed Roma’s title chances in their first season under the tutelage of Gian Piero Gasperini.
“They need to get used to it, but they’ll be a nuisance to everyone.
“Gasperini’s style of play creates difficulties for many teams, even if many have now understood how he plays. If he finds the right players, he could be a nuisance.”
The Giallorossi’s next clash happens to be against Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on October 18.
