Cristian Chivu has steered Inter Milan back on track following a heartbreaking Derby d’Italia defeat to arch-rivals Juventus in late September.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 44-year-old has rebuilt chemistry within the squad after a slow start.

Despite two losses in the opening three Serie A rounds, Inter Milan have re-established themselves as genuine Scudetto contenders.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri beat Roma 1-0 on Saturday to climb to second in the standings, trailing leaders AC Milan by a single point.

Inter looked disjointed at the beginning of the season, perhaps still feeling the lingering effects of last season’s Champions League fiasco.

However, the San Siro giants have regained confidence and cohesion, steadily improving their performances under Cristian Chivu.

Furthermore, on-field success speaks for itself.

Chivu’s men head into tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a six-game winning run.

It’s also worth noting that the team now functions as a well-knit side once again, with players moving and pressing in sync across the pitch.
