Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri is reportedly at risk of missing the upcoming Serie A showdown against Inter Milan.

According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old suffered a muscle injury in a 0-0 draw against Atalanta last weekend.

Maurizio Sarri had to take the Italian forward off after just 22 minutes of play.

Indeed, Gustav Isaksen took his place but failed to help the Biancocelesti find the net at the Gewiss Stadium.

Matteo Cancellieri, who returned to the Stadio Olimpico this summer after a season-long loan at Parma, has been superb this season.

Indeed, he has scored three of Lazio’s ten goals in Serie A, establishing himself as the club’s top scorer in the league.

Therefore, his potential absence would be a massive blow for Sarri’s charges.

However, per Sky Sport’s report, the quicksilver forward faces a month-long spell on the sidelines.

As such, he probably won’t be available for Lazio’s home clash against Inter on November 9.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram should be at Cristian Chivu’s disposal for this high-stakes fixture.
