Daniele Adani blasted Inter Milan for a disappointing second-half performance in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Napoli.
Speaking to Viva el Futbol via FCInterNews, the former Fiorentina defender delivered a brutal verdict on Inter’s collapse in Naples.
Despite boasting a seven-game winning run before Saturday’s trip to the Maradona Stadium, Inter fell apart.
Although referee Maurizio Mariani gave Napoli a helping hand in the first half, the Partenopei deserved the win.
However, it’s worth mentioning that Inter hit the frame of the goal twice in the first half.
Indeed, Alessandro Bastoni and Denzel Dumfries came agonizingly close to drawing the Nerazzurri level.
Unfortunately, Cristian Chivu’s side lost focus in the second half.
Scott McTominay’s goal shortly after the halftime interval put clear daylight between the sides.
Yet, Hakan Calhanoglu fired Inter back into the game from the spot.
It should’ve been a game-changer, but Chivu’s team failed to do anything noteworthy for the rest of the match.
Daniele Adani Slams Inter Milan Second-Half Showing vs Napoli

Despite naming Inter as Serie A’s best team in the last four years, Adani criticized their second-half display at the Maradona.
“The fact that Inter was superior at times should be emphasized, considering the level at the start of the match,” he said.
“Napoli was missing three key players in their starting lineup. There is no competition between the two squads without those starters.
“There was a clear disparity in quality.
“Inter has been the strongest team for four years and arrived at the Maradona Stadium with seven consecutive wins.
“Napoli’s goals came from regaining possession, not from structured build-up. After the 2-1, Inter was no longer dangerous.
“They still had more than half an hour, but they didn’t shoot on goal again.
“At the moment Inter seemed to shift the momentum, Napoli sent clear signals to extinguish them, and Inter remained inattentive until the final whistle.
“Chivu is good, an excellent communicator, and a free man.”
