The Lazio backline has been one of Serie A’s most solid units this season but now comes the real test at San Siro against Inter Milan.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Maurizio Sarri’s men face an “exam” that will reveal whether their defence is truly the impenetrable bunker it appears to be.

Tomorrow night at San Siro, Lazio meet an Inter Milan side that boasts the most prolific attack in the league.

The match will pit Sarri’s disciplined defensive structure against Chivu’s high-tempo, aggressive Inter.

Sarri has dedicated recent months to perfecting his team’s defensive balance, and the numbers back him up.

Lazio have not conceded in their last four Serie A matches, with Ivan Provedel keeping 360 minutes of clean sheets.

However, their resilience will be stretched to the limit against Inter.
