Cristian Chivu turned up the intensity at Appiano Gentile on Friday, with shouts and instructions clearly audible from outside the gates during a demanding training session ahead of Inter Milan vs Lazio.

According to Sport Mediaset, the Inter coach continues to fine-tune his plans for Sunday’s showdown with Lazio.

However, two major selection doubts remain.

The first concerns the centre of defence, where Francesco Acerbi currently has a slight edge over Yann Bisseck to start alongside Akanji and Bastoni.

The veteran defender could be handed a start after several games on the bench.

The second question mark hangs over Marcus Thuram’s fitness.

The French striker has returned to full training but is still being carefully assessed.

Indeed Chivu is yet to decide whether to reunite the ThuLa partnership with Lautaro Martínez.

Following today’s session, the squad left La Pinetina and will regroup tomorrow morning for one final run-out.

After that, Chivu will make his final call on the starting eleven to face the Biancocelesti at San Siro.
