Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has decided to keep Marcus Thuram on the bench for tonight’s Serie A clash against Lazio at San Siro, pairing young French striker Ange-Yoan Bonny with Lautaro Martinez.
This Serie A Matchday 11 encounter kicks off at 20:45 local time (19:45 GMT) in Milan.
Inter want to produce a more convincing performance after narrow wins over Hellas Verona and Kairat Almaty. The latter came in the Champions League.
Chivu has demanded “a different attitude” from his players after midweek and restores several key starters, including Akanji, Bastoni, Calhanoglu, and Sucic.

Firstly, the Croatian midfielder gets the nod over Piotr Zielinski.
Time Running Out For Acerbi At Inter But Veteran Starts Against Former Club

Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi returns to the starting eleven, with Yann Bisseck on the bench.
Acerbi had been expected to start ahead of the German, after Bisseck had displaced the veteran Italian in recent weeks.
However, Chivu has put faith in the experienced Italian to help solidify the defence.

With Acerbi’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, it appears as though time is running out for the former Lazio man.
Therefore, today could be a valuable opportunity to prove what he can do.
Matteo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Tomas Palacios, and Raffaele Di Gennaro remain unavailable through injury.
Thuram On The Bench For Inter Milan Against Lazio

Marcus Thuram once again starts from the bench for Inter, with Chivu putting faith in youngster Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Reports before the game suggested it could be the first time Thuram starts a game for Inter since the injury suffered against Slavia Prague.
Indeed, Thuram has recovered well and is back in the squad, but once again starts from the bench.

He was deployed for a brief cameo in the midweek win over Kairat in the Champions League.
Now, the Frenchman will have another cameo appearance and will hope to continue his good form from the start of the season.

Good job, important 3 points and a little revenge for last season loss. Solid performances from most of our players. What’s happening with Dumfries? Since his game against Union, fall in form. We need proper substitutes for both him and Dima, Augusto in need can cover all positions, but in case of a 2 injured players from defense at the same time, we’re screwed, and it seems that Chivu has completely crossed Henrique out from the team. C’mon Marotta, do your magic, need to bring Mingueza and El Karouani on each side on free transfer next summer, both are offensive wingbacks.
What i think we should work on is the press our press gets outran to easily the only teams that make mistakes in our press are weak teams in the league good overall win i love dimarco
I am happy with the win. The team played well and we are first in the standings.
I did not expect to say this, but, at least at this point in time, Bonny is a better striker than Pio Esposito. It is great to have 4 quality strikers who can rotate with each other all the time.
The next 2 games are hard and the biggest test so far for us. Liverpool is clearly stronger than us on paper, so if we lose it does not matter much. On the other hand though, we are stronger than Milan on paper and this is a direct Scudetto clash, so the team needs to fight to tooth and nail to get the 3 points. It will be interesting to watch.
How come no one is talking about the mistake the referee made against lazio. The goal hit the bar and was inside the line. So Lazio should have got the goal. Now biased inter fan will attack me and accuse me of anti inter. Serie A referees have been making too many mistakes. against and in favour of inter.
The video showed the entire ball wasn’t over the line. Everyone in the world saw it.
Look, we don’t want to ban fans of other teams here. But we will also not tolerate baiting, and lies directly aimed at baiting people in the comments designed to turn the comments into a sewer.
We have (as some have noted) imposed a ban on certain words which have no place on this forum. You didnt use any of those words, but if you continue to come in here to bait people, you will be banned. Consider this your first warning.
I am not lieing I saw the review from another channel and I swear I saw the ball inside the line. Do not accuse me without evidence. I suggest you review it again maybe from my angel it was in. Do not accuse others without evidence too. You don’t know me
Look, I am not debating facts here. Everyone in the world saw the goal-line technology: the entire ball was not over the line.
Continue this at your own peril.
I think u need a brain davide.. You not have it now
Last week, Davide or Tariq said Inter would lose this game. I’m pretty sure they even bet everything—probably down to their underwear—on Inter losing today. So go easy on them; show a little mercy.
You’re 100% right it should have been a goal for Lazio and the game should have ended 2-1. Serie a referees are the most corrupt refs in entire world.
Repeat what I said to Davide: “The video showed the entire ball wasn’t over the line. Everyone in the world saw it.
Look, we don’t want to ban fans of other teams here. But we will also not tolerate baiting, and lies directly aimed at baiting people in the comments designed to turn the comments into a sewer.

What lies? So having an opinion nowadays forbidden? I know what I saw. You can ban me if you want. I’m not here to bait people in comments or to cause a scene I’m just having an opinion on certain things that I saw in this match.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not their own set of facts. You are factually incorrect. That’s not an opinion but a fact. The goalline technology showed the entire ball wasnt over the line. That is a fact.
And this isnt the first time Ive noticed you coming on here and trying to derail the comment section with this nonsense.
Again, everyone is welcome here as long as they can behave like a civilized human being. Stop trying to bait people into an argument.
OK then, take the goal and 2-1 score. Happy?
Why freaking Inzaghi insisted on keeping Aranu, Correa and Taremi?
Because he love oldies like mikhi mouse
These three players cost inter the CL.
Also Marotta the juve agent because he’s the one who wanted those players
Marotta is a mouth piece nothing more, also Chivu need to drop this zonal marking when defending corner .. Revert back to what works under Inzaghi ..
Miki is rock solid. Unlike you clown
Benjamin pavard is costing Marseille too many matches.
nice three points.. but there was something missing.. can’t put my finger on it.. but there was something keeping us back.. chivu gets paid big bucks to find that something missing. hope he can sort it soon. he’s getting there. most of us inc. me thought chivu was a gamble to start with, and he tried to copy paste Inzaghi which got him in trouble. we look a bit better now. I have said this before, and will say it again!! we need a dribbler. even if it means we try to get lookman again over winter…or even the noslin chap who looked good
We are getting there slowly. Imo we need to gain the ability kill off games. A dribbler would be nice as well.
yes.. that’s it.. the killing out games thingy!! we seem to have forgotten how to get compact when we are attacking. even when Inzaghi would attack our back three remained solid. chivus back three.. to give them credit join the attack but are woefully out of place for the counter. fine line between brilliance and idiocy..I hope chivu can find that fine line.
Liked what I saw today. Attitude and energy was there. A bit unlucky that Zielis goal was disallowed, that would help on his confidence. I would like to see more of Augusto on the right. Hope the boys stay injurie-free in the break now .GGs guys!

Most goals scored in the league, biggest goal difference, and top of Serie A. Not bad for a predictable team destined for relegation, am I right?
Not bad at all. We are one step closer to relegation now.
Honestly mate, they’re not fans, they’re just attention seeking R-tards… people slagging off the club, and our home grown, Milan born, straight from the Curva Interisti, who also happens to be one of the world’s best wing backs…. At a time when we go top of the league?? Just ignore them pal, they’re not worth it….
Bruno & Inglese Ultra: We have made changes in the comment section banning certain words (as Im sure you have noticed) which have no place on this platform.
That includes trying to turn me into a topic of discussion. Im not in the slightest relevant to a forum about Inter. Feel free to hate me all you want, but you dont get to defame or insult me or anyone else.
That applies to everyone, including Davide and Tariq (whom Ive pointed this out to in this section),
Everyone is welcome here as long as they can behave like a civilized human being.
I can live with that, as I completely ignore Davide and Tariq, and encourage others to do the same…. I’ll just reiterate that I’ve never insulted you, I’ve merely disagreed with you, but whatever…. I’m an Inter fan, and have been for 36 years, and always try to remain positive about my club- its that simple.
You have insulted, defamed, lied about me repeatedly time and time again. I dont quite understand why you would deny this fact when I literally deleted three of your comments tonight doing just that, but regardless the point is: hate me all you want, I dont care, Im not relevant as a topic on an Inter forum, regardless of you being an Inter fan for 36 years or me being one since 1989, regardless of if you’re positive about your club or me doing my journalism and punditry which you dont like/agree with etc. Completely besides the point. Debate, discuss, agree, disagree about Inter here. Nothing off topic. And this applies to everyone not just you, Bruno Tariq Davide etc etc.
That’s it. And if you see anyone that the system misses misbehaving: simply email me on nima@sempreinter.com with a screenshot of the comment + the link to the article and I will deal with it asap.
Nothing more dramatic than that.
Have a good night.
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree…. I can easily abide by the rules of the forum, but I don’t see how I’ve lied about you…. I disagreed with you, and you stopped responding to my comments on your podcast… that is not a lie…. I took issue with the way you disparaged Chivu, referring to him as a PE teacher…. that is not a lie…. and I don’t recall ever insulting you, but I’m from the North of England, so maybe it’s a cultural thing, and I don’t realise what some people regard an insult….
Also we have top scorer (Hakan).
Inter could’ve been both top in the CL and serie a. But I’m glad they are only top in serie a even with goal difference because being top in all competitions can send false hope. Winning against Milan is a massive priority now because it’d be stopping a direct rival who will benefit when other teams focus on other competitions.
But Inter is on top of both competitions…
3 points in the bag, and top of the league we go!! That combined with our Champions league performances, and it has to be hats off to Chivu!!
The only thing stopping us from winning Serie A is the strange illness that the team has been suffering from for over a year…. of we can find the cure for ‘Direct-Rival-Itus’, the nothing can stop us!! FORZA INTER!!
great to see the players have finally changed attitude and fouled more to cut off breakaways today. It was surely lacking in the past.
Once this team finally hits its stride, like they did during Inzaghi’s end of second season and third season, I think Inter will beat Juve and Napoli at home.
Milan will be tough. Inter always struggles against teams that sit back. But I still believe the team can get it done.
Well, in the UCL we have played only against very weak teams. Lets see how we do against the other 4.
Hahaaha Dimarco man of the match. In your face, haters.
Oh yes brotha. Let em gag
Hey Tariq, look who won man of the match, dumbass.
LMAO
He’s only good for teams like Lecce. He’s way too average.
Dont gag tariq the faq.
During the summer:
Conte stayed at Napoli, Allegri arrived at Milan, and Juve spent over $130M in the transfer market. Inter only got a few unknown players and “downgraded” from Inzaghi to Chivu. Everybody thought that Inter would struggle to make it into the top 4, and that Serie A was completely out of reach. After all, Conte is a league master and so is Allegri (whose team isn’t even playing in Europe.
Now:
Napoli has been inconsistent and will continue to be inconsistent due to their schedule. They haven’t even played Atalanta, Roma, and Juventus. Conte has already thrown his players under the bus, so I expect Napoli to remain inconsistent.
Milan has been even more inconsistent. They’re not even playing in Europe and they have dropped points against Pisa, Cremonense and Parma.
Juventus has already sacked their coach, so there’s not much to be said there.
If anyone still thinks that fans that believe that Inter can win Serie A are delusional, I don’t know what to tell you at this point.
Forza Inter and suck it haters.
Salutate la Capolista
I didn’t read that long a$$ paragraph of essay loser this is a football forum.
So far:
Napoli is being extremely inconsistent in all competitions, even after beating Inter. They still have to face Atalanta, Roma, and Juve all while playing in CL plus Coppa and Supercoppa.
Milan has been even more inconsistent considering that they’re not playing in Europe. And I don’t even have to comment on Juventus.
So don’t tell me that fans that believe that Inter can win Serie A are delusional. As a matter of fact, you have to be brain-dead to not see Inter as one of the top contenders given how things are playing out after 11 games.
Forza Inter and fuck the haters.
Salutate la capolista, bitches
Yeah…you tell em skeeter. F the haters
Unbelieveable. Inter first after 11 weeks. Many of us expected Chivu to be sacked after 5-6 weeks but noooo. Now very tough match against Milan.
I didn’t expect anything else from the team even after the disastrous end of last season and the tumultuous transfer market. Of course, winning Serie A was going to more difficult (and it will continue to be this way) but the squad is stacked (for Serie A standards at least). I never understood all of the doomsayers on here, which of course includes you.
I’ll take the 3points but we have to play better the next match.
Now the stupid international break will break the momentum!
I guess Sarri is a mediocre manager. I cannot believe he won Serie A with rubentus!
You are never welcome here. Check yourself before you wreck yourself biggot.
what a save from sommer!
Cross after cross good luck winning the league with that kind of game plan. Too predictible this team.
Still in first place. In both Serie A and Champions League. Oh well.
Stfu puppet you act like we are champions of serie a lol
The team is certainly on track to get there. That’s what being in first place gets you. You do understand how it works, right?
If the team is too predictible we won’t win like that. Got to find different plan how to attack and score. Then maybe we will win the league.
Have you seen the other contenders? If we are predictable, what can you say about Napoli, Milan, Roma, and Juve?
Napoli, Milan and juve are currently better than us. We need a complete overhaul of this old team.
Tariq has no dik
Lazio players are too fragile
I want Fratessi to well. Hopefully, he can have a nice performance in these last 10-15 minutes.
We should be careful with Pedro on he almost always scores against us
Sommer pulled another Handanovic. Luckily, the rebound went straight to his hands LOL
Good joke but bro that was a really good header idk if sommer would’ve got that
Yeah I know. No GK would’ve saved that.
Dimarco should be crucified after this match. We cannot tolerate this kind of mistake here!!!
This HAS to be Davide in disguise, kinda like when he went from Nicolo Barella to Davide. He’s the only one capable of making idiotic comments of this caliber.
LMAO. That dude was a legend
Oh hello puppet, I say what I like yeh? Don’t like it cry me river
Seems like you’re the one crying about it.
If you say stupid shit, people will put you in your place, dumbass. Better get used to it since nothing smart ever comes out of you.
I just assume that he’s about 8 years old, and in a special needs school…. then it makes sense!
Cry more puppet
All timer. Bro I was dreading seeing him in the comment section the day Inter lost to Atleti the 20th scudetto year
Terrible sub, why sub Lautaro, You have international break! terrible
You guys are weird blaming dimarco
Only 2 weirdos, and to be fair, it’s the 2 guys who compete for the biggest imbecile on the planet award on a weekly basis….
Bonny has actually changed my life✌️
These refs really hate us
Stupid Dimarco he thinks his was conte using his hand !
Not 3:0 unfortunately. Now don’t be demoralised, keep this result. Defend like parking the bus. First place is ours.
Dimarco is a shitty player ruining all our goals dimarco out!!!
He literally assisted bonny’s goal?
Well he’s still shit and predictible player. He should know not to touch the ball with his hands that caused VAR check. Our weakness comes from this little hobo.
Calm down, he assisted for Bonny. 😛
Congrats, you just won the stupidest comment of the day award. That’s saying a lot considering that Davide has been commenting on this thread.
I think his mission is to actually come across as a bigger bell-end than Davide…. its close…..
Shitty? Fuck you
Lol I hope you’re trolling. Dimarco is running chasing down players in extra time trying to influence the match whatever way he can. On any other day the goal stand because its very unfortunate it hits his hand even if it was accidental
dude.. please take ur medicines! dimarco has arguably amongst the best first touches in the game! agree that he was a bit out of it for the second part of last year…but he’s back! if I can’t see it, go see ur optician!
WTF its not goal ?
3-0 Inter
That shot was hit with pure purpose by Zielinski. He started the move himself
Someone wants to go straight in and give Pedro a nice ‘Reducer’!!!
Never mind…. Zielinski has wrapped this up!!!
maybe not…. God damn you VAR!! LOL!
And another Zielinski banger for those of you who thought he was done for.
Spoke too soon. This will not stand.
Still, it was a nice goal.
he def is done for, he isn’t consistent.
rip
Nah, he can still deliver plays like this from time to time. I do agree with you that Sucic should be ahead now, but Zielinski can still be helpful.
alright zielinksi i’ll give u credit this match…
Zielenski !!!!!!!
Where tf is Barbershop Taribo West now? He called me a retard for daring to say that Inter is being underestimated and Napoli being overhyped right before the Napoli game. I wonder if he still thinks that Napoli is “vastly superior”.
im here, i see you will go to Duomo and celebrate your imaginary scudetto after 11 games of the season.
dumfries not good enough in recent 2 match
Bonny!!!
It’s a great goal and the assist was sublime
Bonnyyy
What an assist from Dimarco. And Bonny has scored get another goal. Bonny and Sucic have been amazing additions to this team.
Bonny!!!!! goooaaalll!!!!! Lovely assist from DiMarco!!!! Top of the league Baby!!!
My Captain, how bad are you upfront?
These chances cannot be missed. I love that Lautaro has scored in the last couple of games, but that was a golden opportunity. Even Barella should’ve shot that. Hope that this doesn’t come back and bite us in the ass.
that miss from Lautaro
Barella???? what the actual fooook was that???
Good early subs from Chivu…. Sucic a little unlucky, but Denzel has been playing with his Timberlands on again recently…. and both were on a yellow I guess….
Barella is scared to shoot if it’s not a volley
Carlos Augusto for Dumfries… Luiz Henrique needs to improve.
Augusto is two footed, and a far better player… always surprised that Inzaghi never used him there….
He was too busy subbing Dimarco or Bastoni by the 60th minute.
Too true!!
There are a lot here who are conte’s fans they complain like Conte of every decision made by the referees. Conte must lose again. He had it too easy for way too long.
rare Davide W
Hope this result stays and I see my Inter in first place at the table.
only negative in the first half was the ref. otherwise we could easily have had a lot more chances to score the second goal. very good high press from the team but still somewhat shaky at the back, though good seeing the midfielders helping out more today and being aggressive at retrieving the ball.
Started the half on fire, and then the game has become very scrappy, but – yet again- the referee isn’t helping by blowing his whistle for absolutely everything, and refusing to let the game flow….
Those Lazio a-holes spent the entire halftime on the ground and the ref is falling for their cr@p
does this ref just whistle at every little fucking contact?
I do miss the days when players weren’t complete wimps!! Seem to spend more time watching grown men rolling about on the floor than watching any actual football…..
too many yellow cards (yes player’s fault) but that is advantage to ac bilan
That was a beautiful pass from Barella to Sucic. Shame it didn’t end up in the back of the net.
1-0 Inter
Brilliant start, Brilliant goal!!! Lautaro!!!!
El Toro!
That was quick. Lazio were asking for it Lol
Roma go top and we beat them. We have chance to go top too but Lazio is not easy rival at all. They come after 4 clean sheets. The best attack in Serie A must prove themselves. Against Lazio practicaly we lost Scudetto last season. Time for revenge.
C.unte couldn’t cheat against Bologne. May he rotten in his loss and more to come against him and his club.
I see the bad language moderators are back…. like bad language is the problem on here…. talk about not solving the problems!!
Everything has gone our way this weekend, but these are the opportunities that we squandered repeatedly last season…. Thus will be a huge test as far as Chivus motivational skills go…
Interesting to see Acerbi back… he needs a big performance tonight, as the defence has looked a lot more mobile in his absence…. In Chivu I trust- Let’s Gooooooo!!!! FORZA INTER!!!!

This is an important test for the team. Hope it goes well
