Inter Milan closed the gap on Serie A leaders Roma with a morale-boosting 2-0 home triumph over familiar foes Lazio last night.

According to FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri erased the memory of an ‘expensive’ 2-2 draw in this corresponding fixture last season.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi’s side failed to defend the Scudetto in 2024/25, partly due to letting slip two crucial points against Lazio in mid-May.

However, Cristian Chivu banished past ghosts with a commanding victory.

More importantly, Inter returned to their best following an unconvincing 2-1 home win over Kairat Almaty in the Champions League.

Inter nearly dropped two points against the Champions League debutants on Wednesday.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri had tucked themselves into a false sense of security, allowing themselves to underestimate their opposition.

However, nothing of sort happened yesterday as the joint-leaders of Serie A imposed their authority from the first whistle.

Furthermore, Lautaro Martinez netted his first league goal since a 4-1 rout of Cremonese in early October to open the scoring.

Yet, Inter refused to rest on their laurels. Instead, they continued to dominate proceedings even after Ange-Yoan Bonny made it 2-0 early in the second half.
