Inter Milan are reportedly ready to offer versatile defender Carlos Augusto a new contract after the Brazilian’s superb start to the season.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants are eager to tie the 26-year-old down to a new long-term deal.

Despite his bit-part status under former manager Simone Inzaghi, Inter refused to sell Augusto in the summer.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri swiftly turned down Atletico Madrid’s attempt to sign the ex-Monza wingback.

Furthermore, the Serie A giants are now keen to extend Augusto’s deal.

Signed from Monza in 2023 on loan, Augusto signed a permanent contract at San Siro last summer.

Though his current deal runs out in 2028, Inter are desperate to secure his long-term future with an improved contract.

Augusto’s versatility has proved a valuable asset for the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu has shown his trust in the Brazilian star this season, deploying him in several roles.

Curiously, Augusto replaced Denzel Dumfries in Sunday’s clash against Lazio and impressed as a right winger.
