Inter Milan target Dayot Upamecano is not getting any closer to signing a new deal with Bayern Munich.
According to German outlet Kicker via FCInterNews, contract extension talks have collapsed for a good reason.
Dayot Upamecano has less than a year left to run on his contract at Munich.
Despite being central to Vincent Kompany’s project, the Frenchman could leave the club after four years.
However, the record-time Bundesliga champions remain hopeful of extending his stay beyond next summer.
Bayern Munich Unable to Tie Upamecano Down to New Deal Amid Inter Milan Links
According to Kicker’s report, Bayern already had an agreement in principle with Upamecano regarding a contract renewal.
Yet, the situation later changed due to the terms the club subsequently agreed upon with other first-team stars.
Indeed, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Joshua Kimmich have all pledged their long-term future to the club.
However, their lucrative contracts have taken a toll on Bayern’s budget, compromising Upamecano’s renewal.
Therefore, Inter’s chances of signing the 27-year-old on a Bosman deal next summer have just gone up.
