Davide Frattesi is increasingly likely to leave Inter Milan in January amid growing interest from bitter rivals Napoli.

According to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old could try to force his exit next month.

Inter refused to sell the former Sassuolo star last winter despite Roma’s valid attempt to lure him back to the Stadio Olimpico.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi was reluctant to lose his backup midfielder midway through the campaign.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri slapped a prohibitive €40 million price tag on Davide Frattesi to fend off the Giallorossi.

Frattesi seemed close to leaving Inter in the summer, with Atletico Madrid bidding to take him to La Liga.

However, Cristian Chivu promised the Italy international a chance to revive his career at San Siro, ultimately convincing him to stay.

Since the 45-year-old manager has not lived up to his vow, Frattesi is now eager to sever ties with the club.
