Cristian Chivu has changed his usual pre-match routine ahead of Inter’s Serie A clash with Como, keeping the squad in a training camp at Appiano Gentile for the 24 hours leading up to Saturday’s 18:00 kick-off at San Siro.
The Inter coach had previously avoided using retreats, explaining before the derby two weeks ago that he preferred to give his squad more freedom, especially after the international break.
However, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach has now opted for a training camp largely for logistical reasons.
Inter Vs Como – Chivu Alters Routine To Prepare For Key Clash
The match is scheduled for an earlier slot than usual.
Therefore, the club see it as “a solution to manage a ‘shorter’ day than those with an evening KO.”
Chivu had already hinted that he was not against the idea of gathering the squad at Appiano.
In order to sharpen concentration where necessary.
Inter must now face three games in six days.
Venezia in the Coppa Italia last week, Como in Serie A, and Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Therefore, the club believes a more controlled environment will help maintain focus and optimise recovery.
Inter will therefore spend their build-up to the Como match together at Appiano.
Indeed, aiming to be fully prepared for the second of three consecutive fixtures at San Siro.
