Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly at risk of missing the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana clash against Bologna.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Turkish star is facing a race against time to recover for the mid-December fixture.

Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a thigh injury during Inter’s controversial 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool last night.

Indeed, the 31-year-old had to come off in the 11th minute, with Piotr Zielinski taking his place.

As a result, he will likely watch Sunday’s away Serie A match against Genoa from the sidelines.

Though Calhanoglu is hoping to regain full fitness for the Super Cup, the severity of the injury leaves his participation in doubt.

In addition to the 31-year-old playmaker, Inter could take on Bologna without Francesco Acerbi.

Like his teammate, Acerbi sustained a muscle problem in the first half yesterday, forcing Cristian Chivu to introduce Yann Bisseck.

Indeed, the veteran defender immediately raised his hand during a foot race against Hugo Ekitike, signaling he was unable to continue.
