Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi is reportedly set to miss the rest of the calendar year due to a muscle injury.
According to Inter.it, the detailed checks revealed a muscle strain in the veteran’s right thigh.
Francesco Acerbi sustained a new injury blow during Inter’s controversial 1-0 home loss to Liverpool on Tuesday.
Indeed, he had to come off midway through the first half, surrendering his place to Yann Bisseck.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old underwent a medical examination at the Istituto Humanitas di Rozzano this morning.
Inter Milan Ace Francesco Acerbi Sidelined for One Month

Inter have lost Acerbi on the eve of the team’s trip to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri will travel to Riyadh next week, seeking redemption for last year’s fiasco against AC Milan.
However, Cristian Chivu will not be able to call upon the former Lazio star.
According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Acerbi will not return to action until the end of the calendar year.
Instead, he could be back at the start of 2026.
Acerbi is a very intelligent player and an on-field vocal leader. His lack of athleticism was less of an issue under Inzaghi.
Now is the time to transition to Akanji as the ancor of the defense. Chivu and management want to evolve the team into a more aggressive, high-pressing team. Acerbi is a liability against strong teams with these tactics because he simply isn’t athletic enough to chase down counter-attacks.
How about if you take rest until end of seasons, or even better if you consider early retirement
