Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries underwent ankle surgery earlier today, which will likely sideline him for at least two months.
According to Inter.it, the Dutch ace went under the knife to ‘stabilize’ his long-term ankle problem.
The Nerazzurri lost Denzel Dumfries to a nasty injury during a home Serie A win over Lazio at the beginning of November.
Indeed, Mattia Zaccagni fell awkwardly on the 29-year-old’s foot, causing a sprain that has tormented him for over a month.
Inter Milan Star Denzel Dumfries Undergoes Ankle Surgery

Though the injury seemed innocuous at first, Dumfries has been unable to return to action for over a month.
Despite the club’s hopes of having him back for the Supercoppa Italiana, Cristian Chivu couldn’t call upon his starting wingback.
Tired of waiting for his condition to improve, Dumfries has decided to go under the knife to address this niggling problem.
According to Eurosport, this could force him to stay in the pits for a further 8-12 weeks.
Now, he will follow a rehabilitation program over the coming weeks.
Dumfries’ absence could not have come at a worse moment for Inter, given the upcoming fixture schedule.
Therefore, the club will return to the market to replace the former PSV Eindhoven star in January.

we should just get K_Adeyemi from Doutmond
Sad news. I exptected him to be back.
We should sell him to Newcastle they definitely will splash clash on fratessi
As you might have noticed both cocchi and cinquegrano made the bench vs genoa. Lets relax and trust in the management. I refuse to believe the other teams have some magic youth programs that produce magic youngsters and inter not. I will be more excited to see youngsters filling in just like most teams do in a time of crisis on a certain possition. Panic buying sends the wrong message. I guess we’ll see. I doubt we’ll spend big just to fill the gap. Maybe some loan for an experienced player. The youngsters need to play sooner rather than later.
I agree, but if you observed till now, the whole serie a doesn’t really have much faith into young prospects. Besides Balotelli, Yildiz, Zaniollo, Esposito and other, there haven’t been many that breakout at a really young age, with a great pace. It’s more an serie A problem, and Managers choice as usual. That shows also how far behind are we from a Premier League or La Liga.
he’s 29, prone to injuries and will most likelly will leave in the summer. We need to find a top level replacement, a ready made top player, but since we are Inter, we wont.
“Since we are Inter, we wont?”
What does that mean? Are you not aware that Inter have been in a financial crisis ever since COVID? Do you think Suning lost the club because they no longer felt like managing the team? Do you know why Hakimi and Lukaku (in his prime) left after Inter won the Scudetto back in 2021? Why Conte left? Why do you think Inter has been incorporating older players on free transfers? You (and many others) talk crap about management for getting these type of players instead of the flashy, fast, young, players that can dribble and beat defenders. The older player delivered and are still delivering. They won the scudetto, made Napoli and Milan fight until the very last minute for their titles, and put Inter back in two CL finals. At the same time, the only reason why Inter made a profit for the first time in years is because they didn’t blow the market signing young flashy players and went with the older ones instead. Management could’ve gambled on younger players and risk financial stability since you have no idea how they’d perform, or they could do what they did these past four years. Seeing what we got and where we are now, I’m more than satisfied with how management has dealt with things so far. Inter is now in a position in which we can attract bigger players (thanks to the team reaching the CL twice) and can actually afford to pay for these players, so spare me your nonsense.
Hope we get a proper replacement especially since rumors are he’s wanting to leave this summer
