Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has decided to start Ange-Yoan Bonny and Marcus Thuram in attack against Bologna. This evening’s Supercoppa Italiana clash kicks off at 20:00 CEST in Saudi Arabia.
Inter head into the Supercoppa clash with a potential final on the line against Napoli, who beat Milan 2-0 last night.
The Nerazzurri will be looking to continue their good run of form against an equally impressive Bologna side.
Chivu continues to face a number of absences, most notably of Denzel Dumfries, yet Hakan Calhanoglu is set to return to the bench.
Bologna Vs Inter Milan – Zielinski & Luis Henrique Continue To Stand In For Calhanoglu & Dumfries

Dumfries has recently undergone surgery and Chivu has chosen Luis Henrique to once again play on the right.
After his move from Marseille in the summer, the Brazilian initially struggled to settle.
However, recent improvements in form have seen Chivu settle on the Brazilian as the ‘stop-gap’ with Dumfries out.
On the opposite flank, Dimarco returns to the left, after being rested for Carlos Augusto in the last match.
In midfield, Calhanoglu is set to return to the bench after his injury layoff.
Meanwhile, Zielinski will start again as regista in the Turkish star’s place.
Indeed, symbolic as Chivu’s squad continues to offer depth and versatility.
French Duo Bonny & Thuram Lead Line In Supercoppa Showdown

One of the major pre-match talking points was focused on Chivu’s front line.
The Inter coach has four impressive forwards at his disposal but has decided to rest captain and top scorer Lautaro Martinez.
Instead, French duo Bonny and Thuram will lead the line: a pairing the Romanian coach has not relied too heavily on this season.
For Chivu, Bonny has largely played the role of Thuram’s deputy this season.
When the former Monchengladbach forward suffered a thigh injury, Bonny stepped in and impressed with his performances.
Now, it is Lautaro’s turn to sit out and, rather than turning to Pio Esposito in the first instance, the coach has gone with the Frenchmen.

Where are the bisseck fan boys now then?!?
Terrible defender, scores a goal and suddenly he’s a good player…that’s not his damn job!!
Between him, acerbi being an oap and Bastoni haing an awful season we are really struggling… I have been critical of de vrij in previous years but he’s looked about as good as we have right now but can’t get a game ♂️
Meanwhile benji is tearing it up in France ♂️
Right here. Its very easy to blame the defenders. He’s doing a good job. Wanna look at virjil handball and explain what is a penalty and whats not. Or rabiot handball from 2 years ago. Support your rube and leave inter to the real fans
When we started to buy midfielders and wingers and put them into fullbacks, that whej I knew we were doing something wrong here. I when saw our fullbacks playing like they were wingers and not giving much effort in defending, the football became super boring and slow.
This team have been choking every time it matters.
Like I said before; I have zero expectations this season, only hope for 4th place at least to secure ucl.
We won’t be top 8 in ucl which means we have to play in the winter. And we can’t take any points from any big teams but what’s to expect when we buy average players who cost 25M ?
We used to buy players like baggio, Ronaldo, Zamorano, seedorf, davids, sneijder, etoo, vieri, zlatan, figo, vieria, veron, cannavaro, lucio, samuel, Roberto Carlos, crespo, etc just amazing players! And now we have buy henrique bony, diouf and bisseck level players
Aside from the fact the players mentioned are from a different era long gone with Moratti. None of the “top” serie a teams have these types of players anymore, we have the so called “best team” but in reality we along with many “top” teams dont have mentally strong players and for some reason this generation is not as mentally tough as that era. Yes we need a spine of the team to be mentally strong but we also need a ton of cash to buy better players which we dont have. Henrique is the sort of signing which is basically throwing money away, (we may still have a winger in Diouf….he looks very good in this position and has loads of protection around him) and can just dribble and beat players with his pace.
Martinez- much better than Sommer currently, unless management want to invest in world class gk, bringing players like Caprile, Vicario and rest of rumored players won’t change anything, none of them is drastically better than him, unless they want to bring Stankovic back as he’s cheap, young, our youth product and still has space to grow.
Bisseck- even when he plays perfectly, there is always a chance of him playing handball in front of our goal.
De Vrij- ok game, no mistakes, but also nothing spectacular, terrible header in the last minutes, there was no one around him, should’ve scored.
Bastoni- good assist, ok showing, but terrible penalty.
Dima- 2 good shots, but crosses tonight were bad, don’t know why didn’t have the guts to take the penalty.
Luis- no comment anymore for him, simply bad player for us.
Mhiki- in attack impotent as always, defensively tonight not good also.
Zielinski- maybe best tonight in our squad tonight after Martinez.
Barella- average tonight, but too much talk, waving his hands and bad penalty lowered his impression
Thuram- goal and that’s it. Nonexistent in game once more, if not for that goal maybe the worst player tonight beside Luis and Bisseck. With him and Luis together on the pitch 2 less player in the game.
Bonny- running, helping on the pitch but failure to create anything or had a shot left bad impressions, that horrible penalty didn’t help much either.
Chivu- once more late with substituting, giving starting place to players who doesn’t appreciate given chance. Another loss, 7th this season, concerning considering there is more than half of season left to play, mentality of team is low in big games. And for the love of God please give them more penalty training in practice.
Henrique needs to earn his spot, play Diouf for goodness sakes, change the pace of the game after 45 minutes. Even play 3 in attack with Thuram-Bonny-Lautaro/Esposito, we are too predictable at the moment. Everyone is lacking that bite in play. We need some players to reinvigorate this team if we can afford some?
Actually with Diouf Inter aren’t as predictable because he cuts inside and in this match he had like 100% success in his dribble to cut inside and find someone. Henrique knows how to cut inside but he’s far too weak mentally to do anything at this point. Dumfries injury meant it was his chance to do something but it’s clear if Inter uses him then they’re playing with 10 men when attacking
On the bright side CHivu finally got his draw. Lol But if he keepe pretending to think Henrique is a better player than Diouf or even Augusto in that position then he will get a lot more losses.
Those penalties were awful. we really suck
For about the 10th time, a comment with no bad language whatsoever is awaiting moderation….. I’m going looking for another website, because this one has been completely ruined by admin….
A defeat in the SuperCoppa means very little in the grand scheme of things, but one thing I will say is that the question of mentality comes into it once again during the penalty shoot out…. Bastoni and Barella are supposed to be amongst the top leaders in this team, yet both showed absolutely no bottle in a big moment, yet again!! Apart from that, the only lessons Chivu should take from this are that Martinez should be playing in goal, and Diouf should be playing more often…. As Chivu said before the match, the two teams who should be playing the final are there…. get some rest boys….
i think they didn’t do enough penalty practice. I hope Chivu notice it and start to do it right.
Guess who will lose the 2 remaining UCL games vs Arsenal and Dortmund. lol
Those penalties show me exactly all I need to know about this group. No guts, no glory, no grinta whatsoever. Bastoni and Barella should be ashamed.
Fr that’s what I’m saying I give a normal reply to ppl here and comment waiting for moderation
The look on their faces just shows like they don’t want to be on the pitch no more.
Barella and Basto missing so bad was awful. Barella needs to keep his mouth shut on the pitch now. He makes too many mistakes to be so judgmental of others.
Yeah fr the attitude of some of our players need to change or else they should not play for inter. Period.
Fr
Some of our players need to change their atti or they should not play for our beloved club.

Take #1: Barella and Bastoni have been horrible this season.
Take #2: Fratessi and Zelinski have been more hungry than all our midfielders combined.
Take #3: Chala is the only engine that runs this team, when he is out, the team is out.
True. Some people think Fratessi is useless and should be sold. But the guy will not think twice before going for goal instead all of Barella, Susic and Mikhi will try to find someone else to score. In fact I’d say Susic has been “SOFT” because lack of drive to change the match he prefers simple passes and easier moves something that Mikhi does it in his sleep but Mikhi adds urgency when needed but not Susic and that’s why he’s behind Mikhi. If Inter actually gifts other teams like Napoli or Juve with Frattesi mid season that would be a new low.
Nah bastoni has been terrible yes but not barella he’s been one of the only dependable players, having to do multiple jobs in midfield, especially when Hakan is “injured”
We don’t have the luxury to buy a new quality Gk, Martinez is OK.
We need to move on from Frattesi, Henrique, Bisseck. They are a waste of space at this point tbh.
As always we lose against rivals. Thuram goal was illusion. No news. Bologna last years is big team. I was so excited for Napoli – Inter final. Most beautiful final but no, our players decided to shoot bad penalties.
Not shoot penalties but pass penalties like what Bony did.
It is better we lost and did not reach the final. Another lost final would have been even more damaging from a mental point of view.
I guess you’re right.
We need to Win every game no excuses we have lost our winning mentality. They need to change their attitude or just play elsewhere.
I hope Martinez soon becomes our number 1 goal keeper
He deserves he actually made some saves. I can’t remember the last time Sommer made big saves in key matches
Dont worry ,Chivu wants to win the league like Conte style, thats why he losses in the cups
Come on dude enough with excuses we should be winning all matches it don’t matter which tournament we play in but this team has lost its winning mentality and barella bastoni seriously need to change their attitude or else they need to go. Enough is enough.
it was sarcasm
Come on enough with excuses we should be winning all matches it don’t matter who the opponent is but this team has lost its winning mentality and barella bastoni seriously need to change their attitude or else they need to go. Enough is enough.
Wow, this is the first time I think I’ll ever say something bad about this team, but this group of players has a loser mentality. So disappointed by Barella and Bastoni, since these guys are a big part of the reason why this team struggles mentally, especially in big/key moments.
That said, the rightful teams reached the final.
Not you too Bruno lol… it was sad seeing Inter lose on penalties but this team is in transition so it is what it is. We’ll be stronger and better during the season.
I don’t know if a Chivu purposely keeps using weak player(s) in key matches over and over again. It means it doesn’t transition to good thing but the opposite. Henrique is not an Inter material and the it’s a trend now Inter will be playing with 10 men when attacking.
We need a lot of players because we barely have any dribblers but I understand.
We didn’t deserve to win this, late subs by Chivu, 2 starting players who are always lethargic, Bisseck who can go and play basketball, and maybe one of the worst taken penalties in the history.
This why the fck would u chose all the CBS to take penalty ffs
Beats me
De Vrij position and run was good and he score but all of Lautaro, Barella, Bony and Bastoni it seems like they couldn’t be bothered and tried to score a beautiful penalty. Bony penalty doesn’t even qualify as a penalty it was a pass towards goal
shameful display
Those penalties were ridiculous. They looked like the ones in the Club World Cup final, lol. Inter really doesn’t know how to take penalties. This elimination is shameful. #ChivuOut
Nah. Fok your hashtag bruh. Play your fifa and keep your extremes to yourself
Chivu out while on top of Serie A??? What a ridiculous hashtag. Some of you interesting to say the least smh
Can’t win with such penalties. Well done to Bologna wish them another victory.
Disgrace to watch.
Let down by key players again.
Get rid off all the players that are fed up, and have no ambitions to bleed for the club. This can not continue.
True. Thuram should be sold in the summer. Enough with this shite fok player
Agree. He do nothing for us. Look at Toro in comparison, he is all over the place working for the team.
Like Microwave said, we are in transition but key players like for example Barella needs to step up. Imo he has not been himself for the last two seasons. And not taking accountability for the penalty, blaming the pitch just wanted me to punch him in the face…
Forza Inter
can we please win one important game ffs
Bony penalty was just a pass to the keeper.Lol
20 mln striker, what else did you expect?
Not a pass in a penalty shootout. Barella tho was worse
I mean this team is turning into a joke. Those pens were horrible and we played horrible. Diouf needs to start over Henrique. Simple. God this team in recent times has never stressed me out and disappointed me this much than now. What a bunch of clowns
Again Chivu seems to believe Henrique is somehow better than Diouf despite the fact Henrique can do nothing for 70+ minutes almost every match he played.
Seems like this team never proactive penalty shots. Oh well, forget about this match.
Practice *
True bro. I expected more clunical shots
They dont practice shooting at all, This team all sucks at shooting. Even the players that were good at shooting before coming to us are not so much.
Professional players that gets paid millions shoots better penalties than what Inter did. Bony was the worse and Barella was even crazy because the guy is supposed to have experience. Like hit the target and let the keeper deal with it but again not pass it. Their positioning was just weak showing the keeper exactly where they’ll shoot other than De Vrij who’s a defender he showed some intensity
CB’s taking pens….Sheesh we really suck
I bet many of you in here will shot a better penalty than these chokerball loosers.
I thought De Vrij would miss that one too
definition of loser mentality
lets go home, this is a waste of time.
Bonny, bro…
What the fuck is this shootout?
Bloody hell, here wins who sucks less at penalties
is this a joke?
Holy shit, both teams are garbage at pens LOL
No Inter is garbage in taking penalties at least Bologna are not at the same level as Inter. Bony just passed it over without any running at all so all the keeper had to do is guess the side
And now Barella… WTF is going on?!?!
How are we so bad at shooting
we are horrid at penalties
Bastoni didn’t even want to take that penalty….
All eyes on Pep Martinez!! Hopefully Bonny and Sucic take a good penalty….
Let’s see if they practiced penalties and composure.
What a decline compared to Inzagui’s team. They opted not to hire a coach… But I quite liked Diouf’s entrance. It shows that Chivu doesn’t even know how to pick the team properly, insisting on C. Augusto on the right and the weak L. Henrique.
Yeah, as I said last time we played Bologna, they are our black cat. Now penalties 50:50. I think Sommer was better choice for penalties.
Martinez has about a foot more reach than Sommer…. and can dive!
I was not conviced by our starting 11. The summer mercato’s mistakes are costing us.
Martinez will save our ass in penalties, mark my word
hopefully our players score their penalties
Bravo Martinez, you may not be world class gk we need, but currently much better option than Sommer
What a save from Martinez. And wtf is Fratessi doing?
Is this headed to penalties?
It looks that way, but we are God Awful at penalties, so I really hope not!!
Yes, no added time.
diouf done more than henrique in 10 mins
Yep.
Henrique is like playing with 10 players. If Roma are willing to get him and Frattesi for Kone, it would be nice.
Yes
Uuuuf good try captain. How much more dangerous are we now on the right side
Chivu is leaving it late for subs recently…. we need to make changes earlier…..
audibly gasped when i saw bastoni on pens… like what?
Daniela at her best
Finally! Some liveliness and there is a result!!
Debatable if this is a penalty
Because of who the ref is. Was van dujk hand a pen? Asking for a friend
This season on numerous occasions we were damaged by refs calls, but realistically this was a good call from ref, it wasn’t a penalty.
So unlucky DiMarco!!
That’s better from Henrique!!
where is Henrique ? I can’t see him
nobody seems to trust Henrique
Hopefully the likes of Lautaro, Pio, Sucic and possibly Diouf can add some spark in the second half…. RWB is definitely priority number 1 in January!! After the Como match, I’d hoped that Henrique would kick on, but he’s back to being completely anonymous….
How much more the rest of our attackers are more useful than Thuram in team play and pressing i can’t describe
inter management need to tie or cut bisseck’s hands off, they are too long for a football player lol
So expected subs should be Akanji>Bisseck, Diouf>Luis, Lautaro>Thuram, Pio>Bonny and Frattesi/Sucic>Mhiki/Zielinski. No young players sadly again.
I don’t Chivu is brave enough to use Diouf because it seems Diouf has only one mode “Attack” while Henrique is basically there to make sure it’s 11 vs 11.
Only saving grace I can think of is Bologna pressed Inter a lot more, so they will be tired for the second half.
Remember also we have Thuram who will start jogging around while the entire team presses and try to win the match. Lautaro sub shouldn’t wait too long
Exactly. He is a good player with good dribbling but with such a lazy attitude. That’s why half of Inter’s aggressive pressing doesn’t work out. You need only two players being lazy and the press isn’t effective.
I’m so sad about marcus attitude. Wanna smack some sense into him.
Bisseck loves committing these childish penalties. Insisting on the weak L. Henrique is foolish; it was a lot of money wasted. It would be better to try Diouf there. The team is playing poorly once again.
Sadly …yea. Not a good game so far. Cheers to a much better second half performance from inter
Daniela almost got a heartattack at the end. Poor girl thought inter have went ahead again. She is such a hater. Stat united brothers. We need to win this. Even if we need to do pens. We need to win this.
Missed the goal but haven’t seen a cohesive attack from the team for an entire half. Can’t think of a dangerous moment so far.
On point. We’ve been lazy. So sorry to say that about my team. And again thuram is on a walk. Pisses me off. He can do so much. And yet decided to talk how amazing simone is and walk like a tourist the last three games. Hope pio comes in
Thuram walking around is beyond aggravating. Also, have you noticed when the stats appeared at one point for the people who ran most, Henrique was second place with 4.3 km? He runs around but is a complete ghost with no result to show whatsoever.
Yeah. Like a headless chicken sadly
He’s so annoying actually it’s clear Chivu requires forward players to constantly presses but he seems to do it when he feels like it. At least with Bony you can see it’s his playing style and he’s waiting for a pass but with Thuram even when Inter wins the ball the guy is unprepared to receive it because he was on “walking-around-mode” making it easy for defenders to quickly win the ball
He lost me when he didnt celebrate against the rube
It’s the attitude of most players nowadays. They just want to be friends with everyone, no sense of rivalry. Try that in the 2000s, your own teammates would beat some sense into you.
One more game of complete uselessness of Luis. How much time is he going to be given until Chivu bans him from the team?
Chivu trusts him for some reason
I don’t think he trusts him, but that he’s the only natural rwb… probably hoping he will break in with more game time but it’s just not happening.
Either give Diouf a shot there, he had good game on the right side or push young Agbonifo, at least from him we can expect 100% effort and increase in value cause of senior games. Luis is just waste of space, he doesn’t contribute neither in offense or defense.
His hands seems to be magnetic towards every ball, and funny thing is, it’s always ends up with his hands. Bisseck.
I dunno about you brother but i’m getting pretty pissed about thuram attitude
You’re right. The guy looks like he doesn’t want to be here anymore. It’s like he’s just jogging and waiting for balls, he doesn’t do anything. I think he should pack his bags and leave. Both him and barella and bastoni. You look at their faces they have lost their hunger. I don’t want to sound pessimistic but to be honest man I think they’ve had their chances. They really need to go because with these players we will win nothing.
Before every match they need to glue his hands to his body and we’ll be golden.
I like bisseck a lot, i think he’s great at moving the ball up the field and he’s not bad defensively for the most part but he just LOVES to give away penalties. He really needs to fix his in the box work
that’s exactly right. I remember a last-minute penalty against Genoa at the beginning of last season, a last-minute penalty against Lazio, and now this one. All by touching the ball with his hands…
He needs to understand that sometimes going down when he gets pressured is good because trying to get the ball while not balance results in a penalty. Like this one it wasn’t a difficult ball to deal with and if he goes down it’s a foul. No question tho he’s a defender that Inter must integrate into the starting 11 because the alternatives are way worse
That is 100% a penalty by Bisseck. It’s like the third or fourth time this guys gives out penalties by using his hand…
Andddd……it’s a penalty, once more
Zielinksi been on fire for the past month. All credit to him.
Hats off.
That’s like the third time i have seen henrique not pass a ball on the overlap and decide to back pass. Like come on man.
This time, Bisseck took three days before passing to Henrique (who was offside by the time Bisseck passed)…
lol saw that too.
Beautifully done BASTO!!!
He’s been catching a lot of flak latelty (and rightly so). It’s great getting glimpses of what he’s truly capable of.
Long time no win against Bologna. Time to win and to set up beautiful final Napoli – Inter (no Juventus & no Milan). 🙂
Keep an eye out for nr50. Might get a cameo tonight if we go put 2 behind bologna at the break
Hell Yeah, Bonny is back!!!
