Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan are reportedly in the market for defensive reinforcements after losing Denzel Dumfries to injury.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri will not pursue the Dutchman’s heir at all costs.
Denzel Dumfries suffered a horrendous ankle injury during Inter’s home win over Lazio in early November.
Though the club expected him to recover by December, the 29-year-old had to undergo surgery earlier this month.
Now, he could be facing up to four months in the pits, leaving Cristian Chivu short of reliable wingback options.
Inter Milan Unwilling to Pursue Denzel Dumfries Replacement at All Costs

Despite Luis Henrique’s underwhelming start at San Siro, the Brazilian could benefit from Dumfries’ absence.
Indeed, the Brazilian has recently cemented his place in the starting lineup, largely thanks to Matteo Darmian’s injury.
Meanwhile, Inter would ideally sign a more dependable alternative to the former PSV Eindhoven star in January.
However, they will only do that if an opportunity presents itself.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Marco Palestra have caught Beppe Marotta’s eye, but securing either would require a significant financial outlay.
