Inter Milan striker Ange-Yoan Bonny suffered a knee injury on Monday and will spend the rest of the calendar year in the pits.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Frenchman may not return to action until mid-January.
Cristian Chivu will not have the 22-year-old at his disposal when Inter take on Atalanta in a high-stakes Serie A clash on Sunday.
Furthermore, the former Parma star could miss Inter’s next three matches, including an away fixture at Stadio Ennio Tardini next month.
However, he could be back for the most significant game of the season yet.
Inter Milan Hoping to Have Bonny Back for Napoli Clash

Inter will seek revenge for a controversial 3-1 defeat against Napoli in the first half of the season when they meet in January.
Whether Ange-Yoan Bonny will recover by then remains uncertain, but the club expects to have him back in two weeks.
Meanwhile, Bonny’s injury is likely to increase Francesco Pio Esposito’s playing time in the upcoming period.
Left on the bench in the Supercoppa heartbreak against Bologna, Esposito should get some minutes in Bergamo this weekend.
