Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni delivered his assessment of last night’s Serie A match between Atalanta and Inter Milan.
In his latest column via FCInter1908, Zazzaroni assessed the Nerazzurri’s performance at the Gewiss Stadium.
Inter Milan sneaked into the win column a week after suffering a dismal Supercoppa Italiana elimination to Bologna.
Furthermore, Cristian Chivu inspired his side to their fourth consecutive league victory.
As a result, Inter will enter the new calendar year as the Serie A pacesetters.
Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal, moving one clear of Christian Pulisic at the top of the division’s scoring board.
In the end, Inter secured all three points, even though Raffaele Palladino’s side nearly pulled off a late upset.
Indeed, second-half substitute Lazar Samardzic squandered a golden chance to rescue a point for Atalanta in the dying moments.
Therefore, the 20-time Italian champions claimed their fourth successive away league win over the Bergamo outfit.
Ivan Zazzaroni Assesses Inter Milan Win vs Atalanta

“It’s getting more and more interesting,” Zazzaroni wrote. “I didn’t say ‘beautiful,’ I said ‘interesting.’
“Inter 36, Milan 35, Napoli 34, Juventus 32, Roma 30. Juventus have one game in hand, but not only for that reason.
“As the days go by -we’re almost at the halfway point of the season -interruptions of all kinds happen.
“And I insist on noting that Inter and Napoli have more structure and value than their direct competitors.
“For the record, over the weekend, all four won, three of them away.
“Yesterday in Cremona, Napoli won without too much difficulty thanks to Hojlund and a magnificent McTominay in midfield.
“Meanwhile, in Bergamo, Inter experienced some struggles, even though they maintained control of the match for long periods, and they secured full points again thanks to Lautaro.”
“Hojlund and Neres, waiting for Lukaku, on one side; Lautaro, Thuram, Bonny, and Pio on the other, are part of what Milan and Juventus don’t have.
“To catch up with last May’s first and second, Allegri and Spalletti should be able to add top-level solutions in January.”
