Inter Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu sustained a muscle injury during last night’s home clash against Napoli.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 31-year-old came out of the contest bruised.

Hakan Calhanoglu scored in both league appearances against Napoli this season, with both goals coming from the spot.

Last night, he converted a second-half penalty to restore Inter’s lead, netting his seventh goal in Serie A this season.

However, Scott McTominay’s double helped the Partenopei avoid defeat at San Siro and stay within a four-point distance from Inter.

Inter boss Cristian Chivu had to take his standout midfielder off in the 88th minute due to muscle fatigue.

Unfortunately, the former AC Milan star felt pain toward the end of the game, forcing Chivu to introduce Petar Sucic.

Though it didn’t seem like a serious injury, the Turkish ace will undergo further checks today.

As such, his availability for the upcoming Serie A trip to Lecce is hanging in the balance.
