Veteran Serie A referee Fabio Maresca will be in charge of tomorrow night’s clash between Inter Milan and Lecce.

According to FCInterNews, it’s been almost two years since the 44-year-old officiated an Inter game.

Cristian Chivu will be keen to steer his side back to winning ways following a gut-wrenching 2-2 draw against Napoli on Sunday.

Therefore, Lecce’s visit to San Siro appears to be a perfect opportunity for the Nerazzurri to bounce back immediately.

Indeed, the visitors remain stuck in the bottom half of the table, only three points away from the relegation zone.

Inter’s last Serie A match under Maresca’s watch was in February 2024, when they beat Juventus 1-0 on home turf.

Curiously, that was the most recent of the 18 matches he has officiated involving the Nerazzurri.

Furthermore, Chivu’s men boast an outstanding record under Maresca, having won 12 of those 18 fixtures.

Three of the remaining six ended all square, with Inter losing the other three.

As such, there’s plenty of reason for optimism ahead of tomorrow.
