Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan reportedly have no intention of opening talks with Galatasaray over the transfer of Hakan Calhanoglu.

According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, no meeting is planned, as Inter remain unwilling to part ways with their talisman.

Hakan Calhanoglu is currently on the treatment table after suffering a calf injury during Sunday’s draw against Napoli.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old may not return to action until mid-February, leaving Cristian Chivu strapped for reliable midfield options.

Despite his expected absence, Calhanoglu remains a vital part of Chivu’s project.

Galatasaray made a valiant attempt to sign the former AC Milan midfielder last summer.

However, they refused to match Inter’s €35 million asking price, ending up empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu has cemented his first-team status this season, establishing himself as Inter’s driving midfield force.

Indeed, he has scored seven Serie A goals already, emerging as the division’s most prolific midfielder.

Therefore, Chivu’s men are not open to letting him go midway through the campaign.
